  1. If they can get a guy that is really good and has two years of control, they may have to. And I am okay with that. Playoffs are awesome.
  2. Or Dylan Bundy and Simmons from the A's. And then Longoria from the Giants. Then I think we're set.
  3. I would like us to get rid of Shaw, and trade for Evan Longoria. Better defensively, can still hit very well, and of course that veteran presence that is almost totally lacking. I would bat him 3rd.
  4. It sometimes feels that way.
  5. Is he better than who they have? Dwight Smith Jr has a s*** arm, but maybe hits better.
  6. Nope. But I get the false equivalency.
  7. Players I am high on right now...Espinal and Merryweather
  8. After this season, do we have four more years of control of Merryweather? Arb1-4?
  9. It is soooooooo cool Fangraphs posts EV. WHen the hell did that happen? Can a person search for the weakest non-pitcher EV?
  10. I 100% agree. The team up has to keep playing hard. If the team down doesn't want to play anymore, f***ing forfeit and walk off the field. I also agree on the SB thing. If it is a blow out, I wouldn't push it. But swinging hard on a 3-0? WTF?
  11. I know, right? I think if a lot of us had that, and the motivation to be one of the biggest stars in MLB, we'd be able to do it.
  12. Lol true. But if the Jays were tied with all the other teams last year by late July, I think you would have been pumped.
  13. Watching yesterday's intrasquad game, I was just amazed at how much young talent there is everywhere. Of course you have the core 4-5, but then guys like Espinal, or even Wall, could really be something. Tellez looks like he may start hot. There seem to be almost no lame players on the roster at this time. In a 60-game season, this could be really fun. I am still wrapping my head around the idea that this is the equivalent of being tied for first after 102 games during a regular season.
  14. He's on this particular list https://www.totalprosports.com/2011/09/16/9-smartest-players-in-major-league-baseball/
  15. Joey Votto strikes me as pretty cerebral. I really like Grandy, and do think he's pretty smart.
  16. Yeah, same typing style. Interesting.
  17. How would you all rate this draft out of 10? I am not honestly sure they could have drafted better. 10/10?
  18. Does Frasso have the worst agent ever, or was he taken when maybe he shouldn't have been? Who signs for $300 under slot, and almost immediately?
  19. Thanks for this. Everything you say makes sense. It may not mean anything, but that fact that the Jays signed Ryu, a Boras client, and the fact that the Jays are treating their minor league players very well may actually count for something, too.
  20. Is anyone worried about signing Martin? I get the feeling that Boras wants him to sign an amount like the first overall, which may force the Jays to give up a draft pick next year. Anyway, I have heard nothing. Has anyone else?
  21. Not me! Not with the Yankees, Red Sox and f***ing annoying Rays in our division.
  22. Man, we have a deep, awesome, controllable infield. Just have to work on that OF.
  23. Those are all great points. It doesn't hurt that we signed one of Boras's big clients in the offseason I wager.
  24. Yeah, I agree. If we lose one of the five we drafted to get this guy signed and happy, it's worth it. Would $1M over be necessary?
