  1. Busy couple of days for former Jays: Genesis Cabrera DFA'd by Mets Pillar DFA'd by Rangers Craig's son optioned by KC Reese McGuire will be knocking balls around Chicago as he was selected by the Cubs
  2. Better analytics and advanced scouting in the Rays system I would guess.
  3. Sigh, this team is so frustrating to watch. 2 runs in 3 games in a little league stadium is embarrassing.
  4. Put Vlad in a minor league park shaped like Yankee Stadium! look out!
  5. As the great Yogi Berra once said "Baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical"
  6. They didn’t want to test a movable object versus a stoppable force.
  7. Yep, this is turning into the situation with Springer the last couple of years where they are taking far too long to move him down. Give him a month maybe to get going before considering it but we’re over a quarter through the season now.
  8. You clearly agree with what I am about to say so just quoting to add on. Just because something is legal doesn’t make it right.
  9. Appearances would be my guess. We have 4 guys in the top 60 in relief appearances. Of course, the Twins right now have 3 in the top 3 and ties so it could be worse.
  10. I thought Gibby version 2 was really good at managing the bullpen, although maybe that is just because anyone would look good after the distaste that was John Farrell (I still say the Sox won despite him, not because of him). Oddly enough, I thought Gibby 2.0 looked better because he started listening to the SABR guys/front office more. Schneider seems to struggle because he listens too much at times.
  11. This probably means they surprise and take 2 or 3
  12. I'm on the east coast, these late nights are doing me in.
  13. Those three at bats were embarrassingly bad…just like this team.
  14. Bluejays: "Hold my beer"
  15. It might be time to send one of these to the Jays to hang in the locker room.
  16. I can't say I love the fact a guy who shut the Jays lineup down is DFA'ed two weeks later. It's frustrating watching every s***** pitcher the Jays struggle against get lit up by other teams (gio last night)
  17. It’s happened again. When 90% of your innings are high leverage bad things happen to your pitching staff.
  18. Unfortunately, I don't have a way to produce any evidence of this and I'm fully aware it could be confirmation bias, but I can't tell you how many times that offence would conveniently break out of a slump when Dante would be in the dugout or visiting the team. Sadly without being able to figure out when he was with the team I can't even begin to look at those numbers.
  19. I am a strong believer that Dante Bichette was a lot more responsible for that offensive output than Martinez was.
  20. No, I actually think it would be ridiculous to fire him so quickly into his first year. This was more in reference to prior years (and perhaps a sign of a bigger problem that needs to be addressed elsewhere in the org) given this isn't a problem new to this year.
  21. Rangers fire OC Donnie Ecker after extended run struggles - ESPN Imagine actually holding coaches accountable.
