    I said I wasn't nervous at all a week ago. Now I'm very nervous for what's to come. We went from what should have been an easy clinch and allowing for rest to quite possibly in a wild card spot having used all of our best starter options trying to clinch the division and bye. I am still hopeful this means a heater will come in the playoffs.

    Start, end or middle...does it matter? That's not bias. The Yankees had two late series against Baltimore who were anticipated to be the far better team.

    It will be interesting to see how they monitor pitchcom being used to tip pitchers and catchers off to challenge....although given their vantage point is arguably the best I'm not sure anyone else would make better recomendations.

    The first two to come to mind for me were Tampa and Pittsburgh. I could see Tampa managing to turn him around to an extent.

    Hopefully they get lots of value from Kirk each game before Vlad blows our two on outside sliders and fastballs just off center of the plate.

    It's funny, I'm looking at the recent swoon with the bats for the Jays as them getting it out of the way now rather than in the playoffs :)

    How sweet will it be if Bo can make it back for the postseason? An indicator of the type of year he was having. He's missed the last two weeks and still leads the majors in both hits and dboules.

    I kind of wondered how things would have gone for him with Kirk behind the dish stealing some extra strikes for him, especially on the low strikes being called balls.

    I at first though I wouldn't want to see this as I find Cleveland is the kind of team that could give the Jays trouble and a second round matchup with boston would have Crochet not able to make two starts. But unfortunately, the way the playoff schedule is laid out for the AL the wild card teams will be able to use their Wild card game 1 starter in both games 2 and 5 of the ALDS on normal rest. It will all be moot if the jays stay at 1 with the winner of these two at 6 as it would be an ALCS opponent then.

    We've got 6 games at home to finish. I'm not personally all that concerned with their ability to wrap up the division.

    They do, but they will also benefit more from the challenge system than other teams based on how successful Kirk was at challenges in spring training. That's assuming Vlad doesn't blow all their challenges in his first at bat.
