  1. Using only wRC+ for Vlad and comparing him to other “superstars” is a fools game this year. The deep dive on Vlad up until recently was his ABs with RISP were night and day. Only 3 of his HRs prior to the hot streak the last week or so were with runners on. I need to see more consistency from Vlad as a slugger with RISP before I consider an extension that compares wRC+ to others in the league when determining AAV.
  2. That was the Shapiro way in Cleveland. Didn’t have that killer instinct balls in to put the team over the top.
  3. Ok, that is what I was looking for. Solid point. A- on your paper. Keep up the good work.
  4. Never said he was equal to Ohtani. My question was why would we think Ohtani would say yes to sign in TO and Soto wouldn’t if we have the highest offer. There appears to be a group that thinks Soto would never choose TO regardless. Trying to understand that thought process if we offer most $?
  5. What is the thought process that Soto would never sign in TO, yet the Jays thought Ohtani would? They signed Springer. You don’t think Vlad, Joey Bats, EE and a s*** load of other Dominicans won’t tell him what a great place Toronto is to play and the multiculturalism etc, etc.
  6. I would rather see a legit effort at Soto vs a Vladdy extension. Vlad, or more importantly his agent are going to want an aircraft carrier contract. Vlad is not a legit aircraft carrier. As mentioned, any extension would need to be north of $27m AAV. Why, because he will probably get $25 m in ARB after this season. Trade him for specs and use that money to make the overall team better.
  7. Start off with Mathews and Baez and or Melton. Maybe someone younger off the MLB roster also. Get them to add Khouba or another SP. Maybe take a younger currently injured SP. I think there are assets that would improve the Team. With the Astros you would probably need to go quantity with upside to hedge.
  8. I think a lot of that is in the Bold Predictions thread isn't it? I know I said no WC, and Detroit would finish ahead of us or WC3 or something like that.
  9. I think the zero post season wins is more of an overall metric to reflect lack of forward progress. There was no substantive improvement in the overall result or performance of the org YTY since 2020. No AL East champs, not even first WC I don’t believe.
  10. Yea, and talks about a team that had Micheal Young, Chris Carpenter and what could have been… Of course 20/20 hindsight… But a cool thought..
  11. Jesus Christ man, every fnnn post of yours is to point out that other Teams also suck. Do you have any accountability for this Team or in your job? Boss, don't fire me because there are other people in the company that get paid the same as I do and suck just as bad. Zero playoff wins with a home built team in 8 years. No advance progress since 2020. The Teams you are talking about, 3 of the 4 have won world series in the last few years and most of them are still in it and some were rocked with injuries. Every post is the same s*** with you. Other teams don't have SP depth, other teams are in a slump. This is about results and the Blue Jays! Have some fnnn accountability for once for your sports team and demand some results. Same BS excuse factory out of you for years..
  12. Serious question? Is hockey the only sport where a playoff MVP can be on the losing team? I have never seen that before?
  13. Both Panther goals by Canadians. Oiler goal by a Swede.
  14. Where is everyone tonight? Something else going on, or?
  15. I don’t know. The entrance when Timmy Trumpet was live is one of my favorite baseball moments of the past few years. Might have been worth $100 Million for that
  16. So here is the reality. The Jays would have to win the next 7 games in a row against Boston and New York to be .500 on July 1st. The Jays have a -50 run differential. The math for the Jays to be a .500 team or plus .500 with a positive run differential by July 30th is very problematic. Just like FA, if you strike first you can sometimes snake some players from the pool. Start selling with the pitch of an additional month of control etc. Plus, our "current" trade assets could get hurt, start sucking/start sucking more etc. Take advantage of Teams that still think they have a shot.
  17. Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins released a statement regarding the news: "This situation is very disappointing and disturbing to the organization; disappointing that the players made these choices, but more so disturbing that some failure of our environment allowed this to happen. It is our responsibility to create an environment and culture where our players know that PED use is not condoned, and to give them resources and education to ensure that they do not make these decisions."
  18. I said value now vs in 2025. I never said Vlad will get us an elite prospect haul. However, whatever his value is, is higher now, than it will be with one year remaining in FA. JD was injured and in his FA season. Most teams look at a 3 year sample size to determine what they have. We have more than 3 years to see what Vladdy is. Why do you think, hope he will all of a sudden change into something more than he is, has been. Point being, value is higher now, than it will be in 2025. Unless you plan on signing him to an extension. Something as a baseball chat board/internet semi-pro commentator who lives in his mom's basement, would strongly advise against.
  19. So if I am reading this correctly, just remain status quo and hope for the best? Normally your posts are more substantive than this. What is the corrective action beside hope? The issue with Bo and Vladdy, is that time is more of an enemy than performance. If the Jays trade either or both, a team will have them for two playoff runs/playoffs. Don’t trade prior to this year’s deadline. They have one year of value left to the receiving team. Their value is not going to be higher than the 2024 pre trade deadline.
  20. What is the weather delay with bases loaded no out? Rain??
  21. No GDT and the Jays score in the 1st inning and Vlad hits a HR with runners on. It is like opposite day today.
  22. That is what I was saying. The best the 2023 Team could do was a 5 game winning streak. Zero expectations the 2024 team can surpass that.
  23. They launched an investigation in 2017 since it got so bad. Not just these guys either. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2745807-blue-jays-launch-investigation-into-disturbing-ped-use-in-minor-league-system.amp.html. Also Panone, and Cobello popped in 2017.
  24. So Ross was on saying still time. They need to put together a winning streak. I will point out again, that the longest win streak the Jays had in 2023 was 5 games. The 2023 team was arguably a better team. That means if they replicate the longest winning streak of 2023, they will be back around .500. Sell!!!
  25. Look at the amount of failed PED tests during the Shapiro/Atkins regime vs AA.
