    I wonder if Seattle would be a potential fit (possibly for Bo and Vladdy)? We could take back some salary in Haniger and Crawford if necessary. They have a few tasty prospects. There is an 85% plus chance IMO you get more now than at the deadline. 1. You have a lout more suitors now than at the deadline. 2. Do you think Vladdy is going to do better than last year's second half? Value is at a high. 3. One year of control with the possibility to trade again at the deadline has a lot more value than basically two months.

    Don't disagree with you on name value. I just don't think the Blue Jays will get as much as people think. Using the Tucker deal as a benchmark. I also caveated Vientos (my preferred target)with a trade a sign deal. i.e, only way they trade him is if the Mets have a 48 hr window etc to sign Vladdy to and extension and get it done.

    Makes a huge difference if they trade him pre-season or at the deadline. You would get a lot better return now than at the deadline. Hence if you are going to trade him anyway, do the pre-season!! If they do it with the Mets now, maybe something like Baty, Gilbert and Acuna. I would prefer Vientos in the deal over Baty, not sure if the Mets would do that unless it was some trade and sign deal.

    The Dudes going to San Diego. That is what they are implying by “small market”. His uncle or relative is Darvish I believe. Pretty sure all other teams are just a dance and he wants to play for the Friars.

    This is because Shapiro has always had a two birds in the bush is better than a bird in the hand philosophy. With Shapiro at the helm, that 2016 Indians Team never kicks our ass with Miller in the pen. Say all you want about how good the 2021 team was but it didn’t even make the expanded wild card. Again, the Jays with Shapiro at the helm were being too conservative and they didn’t boost their **** pen enough and early enough (familiar theme) and it cost them. Like L54 said, banners fly forever. I don’t give a hoot what AA left us (which wasn’t that bad) I am still vibing off the 2015 season to this day. Nothing has even come close! As a fan, I want that high again and that is what I want from my FO.

    The thing about a wild card team going on a streak in the playoffs, is you need to be a streaky team to begin with. During the season I looked up the longest winning streaks for the Jays teams in the last few years and I think there was one 6 game winning streak. The Jays teams have shown they are inconsistent the past few years ad opposed to streaky. Streaky would indicate long winning and losing streaks.

    I have literally been shouting that from the rooftops on this board for years! Bo, Vlad, Biggio, all rich kids. None of them were going to sign for security of generational wealth like Acuna a poor kid from the island. We will have the same issue with Will Wagner if he gets really good.

    They rushed him back too soon when he wasn’t showing results in the minors and he got hammered in MLB. The FO had no other viable options. Then or before the debacle about conditioning, and a big internal blow up about him not reporting to Buffalo etc. Not all managements fault, but a **** show regardless.
