    I concur. The two BIG bats in addition to what is currently on the roster is a must!!! It can't be trade Bo for specs and sign a big bat. It needs to be Vlad, Bo, Springer performing at expectations, plus 2 big bats!

    Just food for thought. Bobby Whitt jr signed a contract in 2024 for 11/$288m ~. Vlad wants $400 plus/$500m~ I would rather have Whitt every day and twice Sunday and for half the price. Trade Vlad for some specs/players that will aggregate to Witt.

    Merry Christmas to y’all from Park City, Utah. We have a small portable Christmas tree from Amazon in the hotel living room by the fireplace for the kids. We will be using the NORAD Santa tracker to see where Santa’s sleigh is tonight. Daddy will be up late checking MLB trade rumors to see if anything will be left under the tree tomorrow morning for Blue Jays fans. I am hoping we don’t get coal in our stockings…

    I am not being supportive of Vlad and I have been on the trade him bandwagon since last offseason when I wanted to move him to San Diego. A quick Google search shows it is the norm for GMs to attend arb hearings, especially for star players or big $$. I remember AA talking about it and other GMs on MLB radio. Regardless, I think what Vlad is saying is that Ross has no cajones and it was also demonstrated during the post season press conference in 2023.

    Ross throwing John under the bus and sending an assistant to the arb hearing lines up with my impression of Ross, among a litany of other issues.

    Apparently as part of the signing pitch to Soto, Cohen told him he promises to add more big bats to the lineup and not just settle on their laurels. I was pretty sure Alonso was coming back and if not him, then at least one of the remaining big bats.

    For this to happen, the Jays would need to agree to go extra years of sunk cost on both Bregman and Teo, plus have the assets to get Robert... I just don't see it....

    Yea, my bad, I thought he was a LHH for some reason. Regardless, his gold glove level D and power would be a good add for the Yankees.

    The Yankees didn’t acquire him to be their primary 1b. However, the roster flexibility is something that appeals to them. The Yankees are not sure if Dominguez is ready to play a full time CF yet. They will shift Judge to RF and start Bellinger in CF. When Dominguez shows he is ready, the Yankees will have Bellinger play LF and spot starts at 1b. Christian Walker would be perfect for the Yankees in that stadium. Regardless, the positional flexibility with Bellinger is something that works for the Yankees vs remaining OF FAs.

    The fact that Belli can also play 1b is something that the Yankees like vs Teo. I think Santander can also play 1b and is a switch hitter, but can’t play CF.
