  1. Great, now every time I search for the site in my browser I am going to get a spell check red line since “centre” is spelled wrong
  2. The Mets are not involved with that deal?
  3. Well boys, my dumb ass just put down $200 USD at 150-1 for the Nats to win the World Series. Payout IF it comes to fruition- $32,200.00 USD
  4. Don’t really listen to Jays Podcasts per se. Will stream Blair and Barker after it has aired due to the time change where I live. I also listen live to MLB Radio XM/Sirius on my commutes.
  5. I believe 150-1
  6. I’m in Vegas, how much should I wager on the Nationals winning the WS?
  7. Looks like it probably wouldn’t have been Toronto if Teo didn’t go to the Dodgers. (Which was apparent he was dead set on returning). The Mets also offered Teo a two year deal.
  8. His D sucked when he was with the Jays the last year or two. I want my 4th OF to be plus D. Plus the streakiness and high Ks. Literally only get a half season out of him.
  9. The names being thrown around were Baty, Acuna to play SS and move Gimenez to 2b when Bo leaves, Gilbert and maybe Mauricio. Vientos would be a perfect fit if at all possible and I like the idea of Acuna at SS.
  10. Ha, I thought for sure he was going to the Giants.
  11. I think it was sign Alonso, since Vlad would replace him, plus Burnes. One of the players from the Mets can play 3b. It was also, CJ Noviski and Jim Bowden.
  12. I read posters talking about holding Vlad to the trade deadline if he does not sign by the deadline date. If you are not going to sign him, trade him to the Mets ASAP! His whole season value is significantly more than 2 months and a wider range of suitors. Asinine to not sign him and keep him until the deadline!!
  13. Nationals.
  14. Just say, “ear muffs” and we will be good.
  15. There is a difference between a rebuild and a retool. Pat Gillick traded two of the top and most popular Jays at the time for Alomar and Carter. Point being, we can move Bo, Vlad, Bassitt etc and if we aim for MLB ready/near ready returns, can still be competitive and probably with a lot more long term salary flexibility, at least for a few years.
  16. You realize the above probably equals a billion dollars USD in spend.
  17. Arenado rejected Houston. Why would he go to Toronto?
  18. It’s the same interview that was transcribed here earlier in the thread. Gives you some context of how Vladdy answered the questions about any offers from the Jays. The part he gets animated is him talking about the Jays offers/or lack of.
  19. Yea, I have always thought about Big Papi is these discussions. I would say he is more an outlier. If you are making an investment decision, weight/body type is a huge risk factor. Just the fact of the most likely outcome for a pro hitter.
  20. Again… Weight May Affect Cervical Disc Degeneration Indirectly including the cervical or neck portion of the spine…that does not have to do with the spine supporting body weight, or the biomechanics of the spine. It has to do with the affect obesity has on the metabolic state of the body, and inflammation.
  21. The Jays have needed two big bats for two seasons now, coming into the third. Nothing video game when you consider the Jays had at least two opportunities for Teo the last three years and to date have decided not to go that route. Maybe not good value, but a needed reality in totality. The Jay’s FO created this situation on their own and we have every right to critize them without saying it is hyperbole.
  22. It doesn’t have to be that exact issue. Weight is an issue to a 30 yr plus ~ athlete who’s really sole value is derived from his ability to violently torque his body consistently and catch up with 95 mph ~ pitches. When you make an investment in anything, you need to assess ROI and risk. Vlad is a much riskier proposition to me and obviously others than a comparable athlete in peak physical condition.
  23. Weight is a factor many times in issues that cause careers to be cut short. Both Vlad and Prince started behind the curve. We have had the debate here multiple times as to the root cause of Prince’s neck issues. All the medical research I saw on it had weight as a causative or contributing factor.
  24. No, just to a poster who can’t spell Witt’s name properly because he grew up with Ernie Whitt… My bad…
  25. You want to lock Vlad in until he is 41!??? This is a guy who has weight/conditioning issues in his early 20s. Prince Fielder was out of baseball at like 32…
