  1. Unrelated, but JP Crawford has really dropped off. Wow. Might end up being a bust for the Phils.
  2. Nats window is this season and the next before Harper and Murphy are free agents. It'd be smarter for them to pick up David Robertson and Joe Smith than Roberto Osuna. Would strengthen their pen without giving up Robles. Not to mention they weren't willing to give up Robles for Chris Sale. I hardly doubt they want to give him up for a reliever, no matter how controllable or elite he is.
  3. I'll bite just because I'm curious. What exactly would be the "right offer" for Vladdy and Bo?
  4. Any reason Warmoth and Pearson haven't been assigned any where yet?
  5. Chris Rowley had a good start in AAA today: 5 IP 3H 2BB 6K 1ER
  6. KATOH LOVES Vladdy Jr. and Bo: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/projecting-the-2017-futures-game-participants/ Vladdy #1 according to KATOH and KATOH+. Insane.
  7. Really has to be the perfect storm for the Donaldson trade to happen. Realistically, he can only go to a team that can afford to take his ~$20 million price tag. On top of that, that team both has to have a gaping hole at 3B and be looking to compete either this season or next. And also have the right prospects to give up. Red Sox are the ones that make sense this season, but they just might take their chances and call up Devers and see if he sticks. Mets make sense for next season (assuming David Wright is still going to be out), but if Amed Rosario comes up and performs well, he's an in house solution as well. I was thinking Cardinals early on because Peralta was awful, but Gyorko seems to be killing it for them. Giants make sense too, but they have nothing in terms of prospect capital to give up. Pirates make sense if Kang is still out, but we'd probably have to eat some salary for them to be able to afford him.
  8. Justin Smoak is your starting 1B for the AL in the All-star game. His SLG is higher than Bryce Harper this season so far. Bizarre season.
  9. Golden Sombrero for JD
  10. I think there's a chance Pompey gets traded. Part of a package to get us a starter. I don't think this front office is as high on him as our old one.
  11. Jays alum Scott Feldman no hitting the Cubs through 5.
  12. Bo: 1-1 with a HR and a walk Vlad: 1-2 with a double
  13. He's slashing .381/.435/.745 with an OPS of 1.180 and 5HR since May. You have a weird definition of washed up.
  14. He's hitting better against righties than lefties.... .274/.316/.438 against RHP .212/.297/.455 against LHP
  15. That's a pretty asinine statement. Guy is the second best position player behind Mike Trout by WAR since he broke out. That being said, I can see teams not willing to go high on years because of his age but rather substituting that with higher AAV. I'm gonna assume he'll get 5 years and around $30 million. Don't think he cracks $200 million.
  16. Having position players mashing is so nice.
  17. Curtis Granderson since the end of April when he was hitting .128 has hit .297 with 9 homers. Advocated to buy low on him but he might not be worth it now. Lefty, would've played well in a corner OF spot, and despite his age was a guy on the last year on his contract with no long term commitment. Would've been a perfect fit.
  18. Another bad outing for Jon Harris: 4.2IP 7H 4ER 6BB 2K Sean Reid-Foley had a really nice outing last night though: 7IP 4H 2BB 0ER
  19. Hagen Danner signed. $1.5 million. Link: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-agree-sign-second-round-pick-hagen-danner/
  20. Twins DFA'd lefty Mason Melotakis today. I would get on him stat if I was the front office. Good 95mph fastball with sink. Definitely worth a flyer considering our LOOGY situation is still a bit shaky.
  21. 25% soft contact rate for Tulo this season, not taking into account todays game.
  22. I think he'll turn it around, but man if Tulo is done, what an absolute disaster of a contract. Still owned $58 mil over the next 3 years.
