  1. With Robertson off the books, the White Sox only have $14 million in payroll commitments next season according to Roster Resource: https://www.rosterresource.com/mlb-chicago-white-sox-info/ And with so much young, cheap, controllable talent coming up, they can afford to spend a ton of money. Future is looking bright for the White Sox. Hahn has truly done a fantastic job offloading his talent.
  2. I didn't mean for it to be a direct comparison. It was simply to put Noda's numbers into perspective. I'd want Noda to move up a level or two and hit there before taking him too seriously. I agree that age is a huge deal when it comes to prospects. What Bo did in Rk league at 18 years old is far more impressive than what Noda is doing now at 21.
  3. Good trade for both sides. Yankees strengthen their already great BP with Robertson and can move one of Headley/Frazier to 1st. White Sox get a great prospect in Rutherford and a couple lottery tickets.
  4. White Sox over the past week have added Eloy Jimanez, Dylan Cease, and Blake Rutherford to a farm that already included Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech, and Luis Robert. Pretty insane.
  5. Bo Bichette through 22 games in Rk: .427/.451/.732 with a 1.182 OPS, 6BB and 17K and 4HR Ryan Noda through 23 games in Rk: .463/.551/.756 with a 1.307 OPS, 16BB and 20K and 4HR Obviously Noda is 3 years older than Bo, and Rookie league is Rookie league, but those numbers shouldn't go unnoticed at any level. Hope they move him up soon.
  6. Lourdes Gurriel promoted to AA Warmoth to Vancouver
  7. Logan Warmoth just hit his first professional HR
  8. Less than impressive numbers in college. Although he has always been good at taking walks which is encouraging. Hopefully he gets moved up soon.
  9. Ryan Noda won't stop hitting. Last night he went 2/3 with 2 walks. Slashing .508/.586/.831 for the season with 3 HR, 6 doubles, and 2 triples. 14 strikeouts vs. 11 walks too. Not entirely a small sample size anymore either. This is over 17 games and 70 PA.
  10. Not sure if this was posted, but Tim Mayza was promoted from AA to AAA.
  11. Absolutely no point in keeping either Liriano or Estrada if we're clearly out of it by the deadline. Eat their salary and I bet you can still get something worthwhile out of them. If you can flip either for a McGuire/Ramirez type lottery ticket, its better than just letting them walk at the end of a losing season. Not sure who would want Bautista unless we eat salary as well. His bat has been firmly average this season. Perhaps we can package Joe Smith + either Estrada or Liriano to a contender. Either salary to magnify the return. Wouldn't be a bad option some contender to get a good bullpen piece and another starter for down the stretch.
  12. Hunter Greene signed. $7.2 million. Largest bonus in the draft pool era
  13. On track for over 200 K's for the season.
  14. I'd be happy if Vladdy turns into someone like Miguel Sano who can take a walk and not strikeout at an obscene rate.
  15. Well deserved. f*** Dellin Betances
  16. Dunedin now has: Bichette Vlad Gurriel Pentecost
  17. Morales leads the league in most changeups seen with 18.4% and 3rd to last in the league in most fastballs seen at 44.5%. I wonder why. Brutal AB
  18. Harris was considered a steal at 29 if I'm remembering correctly. No mock draft had him going higher than 15. Control's still there (3.1 BB/9 this season), but stuff isn't good enough to miss bats at the upper levels. Giving up 11.2 H/9 in AA.
  19. Morosi, which I guess means take it with a grain of salt.
  20. Nats interested in Raisel Iglasies which will no doubt cost Robles. If they want to go all the way, just get Osuna. Not sure what need they have for a closer post 2018 but I'll take a Robles+ for Osuna any day.
  21. Even if we do retool, it almost makes no sense to keep Liriano, Smith, and Estrada if we're clearly out of it. Eat some salary on Liriano/Estrada, get some lottery ticket prospects and hope for the best. It's not like we can qualify Estrada or Liriano anyways so no draft pick compensation would be coming our way. This way, at least you get something instead of letting them walk.
  22. Rasmussen can either go back to Oregon State or elect free agency, in which case any MLB team can negotiate with him and sign him. Very odd situation.
  23. If you eat Liriano and Estrada's salary, I bet you could get some worthwhile pieces. Makes sense for a team like the Brewers to pick up starters with upside like Liriano or Estrada without pillaging their farm for a top of the rotation starter in a season where they didn't expect to compete but ended up doing so. They want to make moves with potential upside, but at the same time probably don't want to go all in on a team that's overachieving.
