  1. Jason Leblabijian seems to have fallen off a cliff. Now hitting .254/.324/.402 for the season. It wasn't long ago he was hitting .300.
  2. Nate Pearson has an incredible fastball: A couple Warmoth AB's: Gurriel HR: By the way, that YouTube channel is incredible if you want to see little highlights of prospects. Highly recommend checking it out and subscribing.
  3. Delgado got as high as #5 on Baseball-America. Fair point on Acuna. Bichette is having a great sesaon, but Acuna is having a similar season in higher levels so it'll more than likely go to him.
  4. Bichette has to be the front runner for Minor League Player of the Year right now. Slashing .384/.446/.591 with 11 HR and nearly 20 SB through 91 games. Absurd numbers for a 19 year old. He's ranked 30 right now according to MLB.com and 44 according to Baseball-America. He might be Top 15-20 with all the graduations next season and his stock rising so much. I also wonder if Vlad is #1 in any lists next season. He's #2 only behind Moncada according to Baseball-America. I know prospect rankings are subjective, but it'd be nice to have a Blue Jay ranked as the #1 prospect for the first time.
  5. I still like McGuire as a more than capable major league backup catcher. He's very solid defensively. Of what little I saw of him this Spring Training, he looked good. His bat leaves a lot to be desired. He's not going to be an impact guy with the stick, but at least he knows how to work a walk. Doesn't strike out a ton either. Pentecost and Jansen are a lot hitters obviously, but I'm not too sure about them as catchers.
  6. I don't know how the Dodgers keep finding quality players deep into the draft: Verdugo (2nd round) Calhoun (4th round) Bellinger (4th round) Ross Stripling (5th round) Austin Barnes (9th round) Joc Pederson (11th round) Walker Bueler and Corey Seager were 1st round picks, but even they were out of the Top 10. To say they've drafted well in recent years would be a gigantic understatement.
  7. Maybe Pompey does have more value to this team as trade bait. If we can trade him as the centerpiece for a controllable 5th starter or infield depth, that might be the way to go. Especially since we have a lot of OF depth as it is. This offseason will speak volumes about this front office. First offseason after a failed season with playoff hopes. Lots of money coming off the books. Let's see what they end up doing.
  8. I didn't think of Nunez. He'd be an excellent addition. I don't think we really have that many holes to fill assuming Estrada comes back. A 5th starter, an OF, and infield depth? Lots of teams have more spots to fill this offseason. Plus we have internal options as well now for people in the OF. We have a lot of money coming off the books. This FO is all about insurance. I wonder if they go after an ace caliber starter like Darvish in the offseason just in case Sanchez' injury woes continue or Estrada doesn't bounce back. Although Darvish has had his own injury woes in recent years.
  9. Maybe it's unwarranted, but I still haven't given up on Dalton Pompey. I was hoping this was the season where he finally could've broken out, especially with all the OF injuries. At least we've got another year of options on him because of all the injuries.
  10. Midseason Top 10 farms according to MLB.com: 1. Chicago White Sox 2. Atlanta Braves 3. San Diego Padres 4. New York Yankees 5. Tampa Bay Rays 6. Oakland A's 7. Philadelphia Phillies 8. Milwaukee Brewers 9. Houston Astros 10. Los Angeles Dodgers I think we've got to be creeping up that Top 10 at this point. According to prospect points, we're #11.
  11. Carrera non-tender candidate this offseason? Aoki seems to be a sure thing to be non-tendered. Maybe they'd still be interested in re-signing him, but I can't see wanting to pay a guy like him $6-7 million in arb.
  12. Obviously the MLB is better than AA, but for prospects, AA is known as their proving ground. They wrote an article on it for the Hardball Times: http://www.hardballtimes.com/the-double-a-jump-2/
  13. We need to offload Kendrys somehow. Pearce would be a great DH. He's still worth having in the OF because of his bat, but the injury risk there is too high. Give him a full season as a primary DH and he'll give you a 120 OPS+ season with 155 games. You can also play Pearce in the OF when you really have to and rotate guys like Martin and Donaldson in the DH spot during their days off.
  14. If Bo finishes the season hitting .300-.400 in High-A, I can see him being top 15 in some lists. I think at this point, most scouts have bought into his unorthodox approach. AA will be interesting. The jump from A+ to AA is the hardest in all of baseball. That'll be the biggest test for Bo in the minors.
  15. Chris Rowley: 6.0IP 8H 3ER 2BB 4K Sean Reid-Foley: 7IP 9H 3ER 0BB 2K TJ Zeuch (rehab in the GCL): 1.1IP 2H 1ER 1BB 1K
  16. Vid of Kyle Wright making his High-A debut vs. Bichette, Biggio, Vlad, Pentecost, and McGuire
  17. Justin Wilson also has another year of control. When we traded for Mark Lowe, we gave up Rob Rasmussen, Jacob Brentz, and Nick Wells, and Lowe was having a better season compared to Smith. There's only so much you can get for a non-elite rental reliever coming off injury. I don't think the return is all that light.
  18. Pannones scouting grades according to MLB.com are very interesting: Fastball: 50 | Curveball: 55 | Changeup: 50 | Control: 55 | Overall: 45 Despite projecting as above average in every category, his overall projected future value is still 45. At the very least, Pannone and Taylor seems like intriguing lottery tickets. I'm more than happy we were able to land not 1, but 2 interesting prospects for half a season of Joe Smith.
  19. I just really want us to try and sign Marco to an extension. I think a team like the Cubs would be all over someone like Estrada if he's a free agent. There's no one else in this impending free agent class that has the upside of Marco Estrada for his price tag.
  20. Smoak has essentially replaced Edwins production from last season in 4 months.
  21. Teoscar Hernandez comes in at #5 in the updated Top 30 Jays prospect list: http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=tor Farm is looking really good.
  22. Tom Pannone (23 years old) in AA: 14 GS 2.62ERA 81K in 82IP 1.07 WHIP
