  1. Personally I’m in no rush to promote Tellez (though I wouldn’t mind Morales being released to free up the roster spot). I just think it’s disingenuous to pretend that playing prospects in a non competitive year shouldn’t be a priority. And if you think Tellez will struggle initially then that’d be another reason to give him an everyday job now when team results aren’t very important this year.
  2. It’s not hard to understand though is it. People are impatient. In this particular circumstance we know Morales isn’t very good and will never get better. Tellez might, but if he doesn’t then the sooner we find out the sooner we move onto the next option.
  3. Not necessarily as he won’t run out of options until next year. Though it’d be good to see him get a run in the side this season.
  4. Wishful thinking on your part, if he’s not traded he’ll be the starting CF.
  5. 13 man limit is part of the 26 man deal, and is separate to other things like the reduction in September call ups. None have been confirmed yet. I don’t necessarily agree (which was why I put problem in quotes), but dominating relievers all throwing near 100mph and the strikeouts (and more importantly) lower averages that come from that = the 3rd most complained about issue I.e. lack of offence.
  6. TBF the 3rd biggest “problem” is high strikeout numbers and low batting averages which the mound and shift are in response to respectively. And the extra man comes with pitching restrictions - max 13 on the roster (5 starters & 8 relievers will likely be the standard).
  7. Vlad eats all the opposing teams food and snacks, pissing off players so much that they refuse to play in Toronto. After winning 80 home games the fifteen or so away games we pick up is enough to get the second wildcard.

  9. Yeah Vlad hasn't got this good at baseball by being lazy, he's put in a lot of hard work, practice and training. So he's fat because he eats too much, which means it'll be hard for him to change his habits.
  10. Let’s see how long taking his diet seriously lasts when he has access to the free MLB clubhouse food!
  11. Travis is going to end up retiring before he hits 30 isn’t he.
  12. f***ing hell mate, I know you’re one of the more negative posters here, but writing off Vlad’s second half of his career already is pessimistic even for you haha. Yes he’ll likely be DH only in his late 20’s, and it’s frustrating that he doesn’t take care of himself more. But if his bat is anywhere near where we think it might be, he can still be a top ten player at that point.
  13. Not much point keeping Gaviglio on the 40 man either, even though he has an option left.
  14. “Somehow” - his knees are f***ed. It’s time to move on from Travis. Shame, but injuries have wrecked his career.
  15. Ironically making holding him down now pointless.
  16. That’s the point - it doesn’t make a difference because the contracts still hit the payroll and we still have to pay them.
  17. That's not a controversial opinion here at all. But they deserve zero credit for moving Tulo and Martin. Tulo was released with his contract paid in full, Martin was traded with us paying the vast majority of his 1 year remaining on his contract. Neither was comparable to a deal like AA moving Wells, and any front office could have done the Tulo and Martin deals.
  18. Nah he’s better than Richard, who has never been good. If Clay is relatively healthy (a big if!) he’s a potential trade asset at the deadline. No one is trading for Richard.
  19. As a European it’s so bizarre that North American sports teams are treated as businesses and that’s accepted by fans. The Braves move to a new stadium a couple of years ago and start making massive profits, yet payroll goes down. If a European soccer team did that, there’d be riots in the streets, haha.
  20. It’s probably to try to counteract pitches being faster. Further away = more air resistance = slower ball when it reaches the batter. It could be an interesting alternative to lowering the mound.
  21. Yeah I think this is a great deal for both sides. Not many people would expect the Rockies to retain Arenado if he hit free agency, and he becomes one of the highest paid players in baseball with full control over his future.
  22. Yeah, I wonder if he got a no trade clause?
  23. Don’t worry we can just sign Trout and Betts in 2021 haha. Seriously though, trading some prospects for outfielders at some point in the next few years, added to one or more from the players you mentioned plus Wall and Conine and we’ll be fine.
  24. WTF are they doing?? What's the point of changing the front office personnel if they're just going to keep ignoring internationals?
