    A Miami Heat team that hasn’t been relevant since LeBron left is currently 6th in average attendance in the NBA. Much more relevant for low baseball attendances: the Rays have a bad stadium in a worse location. The Marlins have been arguably the worst run franchise in baseball since their last World Series.

    That’s kind of the point - there’s no major difference between them as 25th men, and Espinosa is cheaper. So when Tulo comes back Espinosa can be DFA without wasting much salary and we’d still have Gift, who has an option left.

    The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are "very close" to agreeing a deal to play two Major League Baseball regular season games in London in June 2019. NBA and NFL regular season games hosted in London the last few years have helped to increase popularity of both sports here, it's well past due that baseball does the same thing.

    One day we might see this more often, especially if there is an extension to the 25 man squad to allow teams to have 4 starters, 6/7 one inning relievers, and 2/3 long relievers on the roster at the same time.

    Replaces Pannone on the 40 man. He’ll be DFA when one of the veteran relievers is added, but they must be hoping no one else claims him then.

    It’s WADA that does the analysis for baseball, the same body that handles the Olympics. Assuming it’s the same procedure, after a failed test they test a B sample to rule out contamination of the first sample.
