  1. Talking about low attendances, 1st pitch at Petco Park:
  2. Crazy thing is it has perfect transport links by car, rail and even air. If they knocked it down and built a true modern stadium it could be successful. However, the Warriors are moving to downtown San Fran, and the SF Chronicle reckons when the lease is up on the coliseum it could be turned into a mall instead as the A’s might not have the money to buy it.
  3. The weather was great, but the coliseum is an awful venue. I went to the Warriors Bucks game next door, and had no interest in seeing the A’s. TBF if i’d been in San Francisco one more day for Ohtani’s pitching debut I’d have gone. Going to the Padres vs Rockies tonight, a much better venue.
  4. I hope you were stuck in traffic when you posted that....
  5. Encouraging start for Ohtani, he could get even better once he acclimatises some more (fatigue from the long season is the biggest potential hurdle IMO).
  6. I don't understand how we won today, I was told the season was over /s
  7. Ibrahimovic is still a superstar - good with both feet, and in the air. Hope he comes out of international retirement to play at the World Cup.
  8. Haha, because I’m normally on UK time when I login in the morning it’s often right about 3am Eastern. And if Spanky’s been drinking he’ll post nonsense, and insults to anyone who’s annoyed him. He’ll then go back and delete the worst of them later on, when he’s turned back into good Spanky, haha.
  9. He’s one of the best posters. 3am Spanky however.......
  10. Only if you either instead to watch delays of games, pick the audio, or watch through your phone or games console IMO. HD streams are easy to find.
  11. For the love of whatever deity you worship, please stop quoting trolls.
  12. Not sure if it's been widely reported - but I did a tour of AT&T park this morning and we were told that the phone for the video set up inside the clubhouse that a coach uses to monitor whether to challenge or not, is now monitored by MLB at all times as a few visiting teams were using the live video to steal signs then ringing through to the bench to let them know. FWIW I hadn't heard of that before, but thought it was interesting. They wouldn't tell us which teams it was though!
  13. No as in a standalone single offline season - I normally prefer to play one season without trades taking place. Plus there's literally hundreds of player transfers every year, promotions/relagations etc. amazing how quickly it can seem dated!
  14. Pujols with a homer to put the Angels back in front. He looks slimmer and they've made a big deal of him having a fully fit spring training for the first time in years. Would be big for them if he was just ok, rather than the worst player in baseball.
  15. Is it true that this year's MLB the Show doesn't have a single season mode? Amen re FIFA, though I don't get it every year anymore I've got about 15 of them since my first in 95.
  16. To those declaring the season over, a small reminder we’re playing a top 3 team in baseball, and it’s game 1 FFS. Admittedly it’s a deflating start to the season so far haha.
  17. Give him the MVP now! /s I’d love it if he makes it as a two way player, opening the door for the Hunter Greenes and Brendan McKays of the future.
  18. Spring training is basically one step up from batting practice, you shouldn’t pay too much attention to ST stats. Possibly, especially as he gives us depth at 1B if Smoak turns back into a replacement player. Possibly, though if not he can be moved or DFA - in the meantime his veteran experience could be useful. The front office has access to detailed analysis and data that we don’t, which may explain some seemingly strange decisions (most of which have worked out so far). They also basically built the successful and promising Cleveland side with a much smaller budget than here.
  19. Granderson had a pretty good year until he joined the Dodgers, where he was awful - which brought his overall stats down. However, at 37 this could well be his last year in the game. With the AAA outfielders knocking on the door like Alford and Hernandez I’d be presently surprised if Granderson lasted the full year on the roster.
  20. If you only count the rotation as the first 5, then 10th is too low IMO. If you take into account depth then it’s fair.
