    Red Sox sweep the Angels, outscoring them 27-3. Next 3 series Giants, Astros and Yankees is a tough stretch for the Angels especially with Ohtani’s blister issues.

    Yeah - 2 years of control after this season, and paid less than $3m this year. He’d be claimed straight away. If he continues to suck he’ll get less playing time until he turns it around, but DFA wouldn’t make much sense at this point.

    Not necessarily - at this stage of his career money isn't the most important thing, especially if the higher offer was only a million or so. This is possibly his last chance to play in the majors again, if he feels his best chance to do that is with the Braves then why go elsewhere for a bit more money?

    Maile was pathetic last year too - his hot start has come out of nowhere.

    Blister on Ohtani’s middle finger, meant he couldn’t control his offspeed pitches. Angels say it shouldn’t affect his hitting, and they’re hoping he still makes his next start.

    We’re about to see what we gave up - Ryan Goins due up at the plate. 50/50 he homers to secure his rose tinted legacy. Or maybe he’ll be struck out in 3 pitches to remind people he’s s***.

    Fair enough. Pearce has never played more than 102 games in one season in the majors so I doubt it lasts, and I’d prefer Teoscar gets more playing time. But it’s not like he has to go at any cost.

    He is due an injury, is an expiring contract, and harms the roster flexibility. Obv you’d prefer to move Morales but that’s not happening. I wouldn’t release Pearce but would be happy to trade him for a reliever.

    Hope he’s done enough to stay up when JD/Morales are back, but he might be screwed by having options left.
