  1. We may even see Reid-Foley and Harris debuts if they have bounce back seasons. TBH I’d still want at least one more veteran for the AAA rotation - if a couple of starters have injuries then suddenly our depth doesn’t look very good anymore.
  2. Even if Tulo starts the season on the DL I’m not sure that Gift will make the 25 to open the season. They may stick with Travis, Solarte and Diaz, and go with 8 relievers in the short term.
  3. Biagini and Borucki are likely the first two in line for a call up in the event of an injury, but we’ll see someone like Tepesch spot start at least a few times. Let’s hope the rotation health mirrors 2016 and not 2017!
  4. Carrera is on! Must be a bit weird for him.
  5. Though he also said none of the reporters specifically asked about blisters
  6. Wilner says Sanchez is very happy with his outing and no mention of his finger
  7. Impossible to tell whether it's because it's started to hurt, or it's just habit - either of which is plausible.
  8. Haha, he just hit a homerun too. If only spring training counted for something!
  9. He struck out 8 of 12 batters too.
  10. He’s accepted AAA for now.
  11. Duda signs with the Royals. So we're stuck with Morales then.........................
  12. The plan is for him to DH at least once a week. He won’t hit the game after pitching, but will likely be used as a pinch hitter on other days.
  13. Of course it’s not certain and the odds are against him, but he only came over now (and not in a few years for a massive payday as a pitcher) to see if he could do it at the highest level. He also would not have signed for the Angels without been given the opportunity to do both.
  14. They didn’t in Japan either. Until Ohtani.
  15. No team has ever gone from contender to non contender based on the talent of a reserve outfielder, but if you're talking about an ideal roster I'd want 4 outfielders and at least one utility player. I think most people would agree Carrera has had too big a role the last few years which I assume is the point you're trying to make..
  16. I have no problem with Carrera as a 4th outfielder, and his salary reflects that role. The issue in the last few years is that he's had to play more than was ideal. Our new found depth solved that, but meant that basically he or Pearce became superfluous. Carrera is out of options, while Pearce gives depth at 1B and DH (his better positions) and has a much higher guaranteed salary so if Pearce couldn't be traded then Carrera is the one who is unlucky.
  17. Yeah that’s what the tweet means, showing how much those 3 had to play last year.
  18. The latest ex-Jay to sign a contract - Ben Revere to the Reds. Bautista being linked with the Rays in the last few days too.
  19. Write him off after one inning in Spring Training, what a joke.
  20. Some fantastic names already: Greyson Jenista / Steele Walker / Travis Swaggerty. Seriously, who calls their son Steele?
  21. Good signing but he has to pass his medical first......
  22. Gift hits one out. We might see him in the majors at some point this year.
  23. The collapse of the market for 1B/DH types, and Morales poor season last year make his deal look much worse in hindsight.
