  1. Wacha sliced and diced us tonight. It wasn't even competitive.
  2. Are we at a point where we can say Eric Lauer is our the best pitcher currently on the team?
  3. I don't mind, let him get the adrenaline out and get it out of the way. We don't have a lot of garbage in our bullpen left anymore so if you have multiple innings you have to fill in a loss you have to use some good arms.
  4. 7th? Depends, his performance will dictate where he is in the pecking order. Obviously I don't want him in the rotation unless he's better than the other guys. He has the talent to be better than just about everyone in our rotation. We just don't know if it'll be a Jekyll or Hyde version of Manoah because he has been both in his career. I remember having these conversation's about Stroman in 2015. Exact same type of conversations, people wrote him off too then he ended up being the number two pitcher in the postseason behind Price. Aren't we basically asking Bieber to do the same thing? We're asking Bieber to immediately return to form after a major surgery. He's basically on the exact same timeline as Manoah.
  5. Why not both? I don't know if Gausman will go all the way back to his ace form, he is in his mid thirties, but if he can continue to pitch even a notch or two below that, it would be a welcome boost. Manoah is in his prime. The potential is still there. Again, I'm not expecting it but I'm not giving up hope either until I know there's no hope.
  6. So with everything that happened, and a deadline that I personally am satisfied with... I still think we need Manoah to return to a starting caliber postseason pitcher this year. I know it still might be a long shot but I'm holding out hope. His presence could really lengthen that playoff rotation and allow us to go nose to nose with the best rotations out there. Unless he sucks of course. Fingers crossed.
  7. I think their pen was the biggest need. They made great additions there. They also got a top base stealer for the postseason which is a smart thing to grab if you need to steal a run in a close game. With Gil returning, they now have their front three, Warren and Shlittler take care of the back end.
  8. Quick, everybody panic!
  9. Yeah those motherf***ers really needed more rotation help. Damn that will not be a fun team to face in the playoffs. Think of the top three that's coming your way.
  10. Padres are some mad scientists. They add a touch of fun to things
  11. 2022 was Beiber's last healthy year, not 2023, he had injuries in 2023. If you want to argue that his health is a concern, fair enough, but a healthy Bieber>>Gausman
  12. What he said. Bieber was one of the absolute studs in baseball before his UCL gave in.
  13. He is absolutely better than Gausman. He's an ace in every way.
  14. What would you have preferred? It's a seller's market. We needed an ace, there aren't many available. Mid-rotation depth is useless for this team. So the other option is to do nothing about our rotation.
  15. Yeah I feel like we need a finishing touch. No such thing as being a little bit pregnant as Bob McCown would always say.
  16. I'd much rather the risk/reward on something like this than settling for a decent mid rotation arm, we don't need another one of those. If healthy this is an ace. A true ace, an aces ace.
  17. Rotations in the AL? Detroit maybe. KC if Ragans is healthy. Houston and Texas are really really good at the front end but aren't as deep. Yeah Seattle might be the most complete team. I don't think they're terrifying though, I don't think any team in the American League is terrifying. As of right now it's still wide open. I do think we need help though.
  18. Well that has been my argument for a few years now. We haven't had a playoff ready rotation since 2022 when Manoah was at his best, Gausman was at his best with Berrios and Stripling on the back end. We have a bunch of mid rotation starters at this point. All capable of a nice start here and there, and all capable of s***ing the bed here and there.
  19. Maybe we're saving our chips for another piece. Right now a frontline starter is more valuable than a reliever since we just grabbed a reliever. I still would like another reliever, a lefty would be nice, but the priority now is a starter.
  20. If I may say something about the recent slide before this ugly win. I do think this team was running on fumes a little bit. What was it 14 games in 13 days? During a heatwave and playing quite a few day games with a roster that's been thin, especially lately. I think they hit a bit of a wall. I don't want to make excuses, this is a team that still has some faults and they're not as good as that red hot team that was barely losing games that we've seen in the last few weeks but I don't think this was a fair representation of them either.
  21. Great philosophers and great scientists go hand in hand. There's a great historical relationship between the two fields. Theoretical physicists require the ability to see in abstract ways with the "mind's eye", much like great philosophers. But I'm probably getting way too deep for a Blue Jays message board.
  22. Not even an exaggeration. That place really is a shithole.
  23. Easy peasy. So they do remember how to win games lol.
  24. f*** you Rutschman. Stupid punchable face motherf***er.
