  1. I think this team was built to have home run power. I think if they're healthy and Vlad and Bo are hitting to their power potential, or even close to it, this could be one of the best home run hitting teams in baseball. If Santander was healthy, that's another, what, 10-15 HR right there? Just that alone puts us in the top 10. We're not the Yankees or Dodgers, but I think our potential when healthy lies much closer to a top five team in home runs.
  2. The first Max I think of outside of Scherzer is actually that redhead girl from stranger things. So it can go both ways. I like Sherzy though, that definitely works for a dog.
  3. Going to be great having Buck back in the booth! f*** cancer!
  4. Well if that's the case maybe he needs to get fat again.
  5. Even at his best, Manoah was never going to be confused with Greg Maddux when it comes to command, but, Alek is not giving me many straws to grasp onto.
  6. Well that's...not the most encouraging pitching line I've ever seen.
  7. Looking ahead, if ESPN is accurate, we have Kershaw, Snell, Yamamoto, Boyd, deGrom, Eovaldi and Skenes in the next 10 games. Yes Kershaw may not be the same guy anymore and who knows what Snell is right now, but it's a good thing we fattened up the stats in Colorado. ...at least we avoided Shota, Glasnow and Ohtani...
  8. I have to admit I felt bad for them in that ninth inning. The series was already so horrible for them, that ninth inning off a position player was just such a cruel kick in the balls. I mean even position players don't usually pitch that poorly. A run differential in the -300's. That's more than twice as bad as the next closest team. And they were actually playing pretty decently since the All-Star break. Oof.
  9. I've been watching the climb up the run scored list for a while, my dream was to eventually pass the Yankees. At one point we were around 90 runs behind them, but we've been steadily closing the gap and I felt that if we can get healthy in time we had a chance. This series in Colorado catapulted us up the charts to the point where we're not only on the Yankees' ass, we even have a chance to finish the season number one.
  10. Yes I was less than enthused with a team that for the last few years had one of the highest payrolls and yet was not close to a championship with a farm system that was mostly s***. Apparently that's a sin. But, when did I say the players they got at the deadline weren't any good? Because I didn't. I liked their deadline acquisitions. I said so at the time. I was happy with the deadline overall especially given what they had to work with. If they had a deeper system could they have gotten the ace relievers? Yes. Maybe they could have added another more impactful right-handed bat. That doesn't mean the players they got weren't any good. You put words in my mouth and then bark at me about it. What a dumbass.
  11. Looks like you don't understand the point of a message board. Many of us like to discuss strengths and weaknesses whether the team is horseshit in the standings or whether the team is first place. We can discuss how we got here, we can discuss where we go from here. And yes we're allowed to think this season has been a bit of a fluke. So what? What you don't seem to understand, clearly, is that we can have these debates and also enjoy the season at the same time. Nobody here is under a dark cloud, everyone is thrilled, we're winning, we're happy to be winning. That doesn't mean there aren't concerns or criticisms or debates about who should play and who shouldn't play and discussions about strengths and weaknesses, organizational discussions. Not everybody has to do it your way. Not everybody has to agree with you. But everyone can still enjoy the winning. I think you're the one that needs to relax. You keep accusing others of not enjoying it meanwhile you seem to be more miserable than everybody else. I'm in a good place, I got a few games I'm going to in the next couple of weeks, going to be a great crowd and a fun atmosphere.
  12. Depends on our pitching. If Bieber is Bieber. If our new additions to the bullpen hold their own. If Gausman and Lauer continue to pitch like this. Yeah we should be. I still think Santander is important even if most people don't care at this point.
  13. Worm killer has been hitting the ball pretty well in the second half. Better later than never. Hopefully it's not just a hot couple of weeks. We need him. Bo has been outstanding also.
  14. With his command and the way the ball floats in that thin air, he probably would have killed a couple of poor Rockies players.
  15. I think it was nut huggers. Given your reading comprehension level I'm not going to try to go over this again.
  16. It'll be an interesting series. With Springer back, it's about as healthy as we've been all season. Not completely healthy, but pretty close.
  17. It's like trying to communicate with a goldfish with you. Jays win. I'm happy. Be happy and shut up.
  18. Methinks their pitching and hitting might be slightly more competitive. Just a wee little bit.
  19. How do these guys avoid using a position player to pitch?
