  1. Well, it's Colorado and they are s***, but hopefully this reinvigorates the offense for the road ahead.
  2. I actually graded it a B+ personally given what we had to work with and the market. I actually love the Bieber acquisition even if it doesn't work out.
  3. What does that have to do anything? That's part of the story of a team that is overachieved, Fortune has smiled upon this team this season.
  4. What black cloud? I'm a very happy person in my life probably more than you are. I've been wrong every season? I'm sorry show me the World Series we won. Hell just show me a single playoff series we won. In a league where 12 out of 30 teams make the postseason. When you have one of the highest payrolls in baseball and you haven't even won a playoff game, that's failure. Maybe not to you but it is to me.
  5. Resorting to name calling because you don't like someone's opinion, you're a f***ing clown. I'll play along anyhow. Since most of your verbal diarrhea was based on George Springer, yes it's completely unreasonable in today's game to expect a 35 year old to have a Renaissance. That's a self-evident truth. You didn't really touch on run differential but that is one of the aspects pointing to a fluke season. You also failed to mention how many things have gone wrong this year. Tons of things have not broken our way and we're still sitting here as the best team in the American League record wise. So to simply say things went wrong before and they're going right now it's still not telling the story. Congratulations on making the point that surprises happen every year.
  6. We don't have a highly ranked farm system congratulations that you can name a few names.
  7. First of all our run differential suggests that our record is a fluke. I remember how people in 2021 would constantly talk about how this team was so much better than the Yankees and Red Sox because of our run differential and now that it's going the other way nobody says boo to a goose. A 35-year-old George Springer finding a Renaissance season is a fluke. Most of our offseason acquisitions have not even been greatly impactful overall. Before the season I didn't see you or anybody else acting like this was one of the best teams in Blue Jays history because nobody, absolutely nobody believed that to be true. Most people thought if everything broke our way we could be a wild card team. And the things that we thought would have to break our way just to make that happen haven't even broken our way. Now we're just going to pretend like this all makes sense? The only nonsense is anyone that's pretending like anything about this season makes any real sense.
  8. Yeah but I don't just mean physically, I mean mentally. This guy's been going 100 miles an hour since May, the constant adjustments of major league pitching the constant stress of being on a team fighting for first place. I'm much more concerned about his mental fatigue than even his physical fatigue. I think one of the benefits of this team getting healthier is that some of the younger players who have been playing a lot can get a little more rest. We have to balance our short-term needs with the longer term objective of trying to win a World Series.
  9. I think Barger looks a little run down honestly. I think they should be giving him a few more starts off if anything. Keep him as fresh as possible.
  10. Why the hell is everyone scared of Kyle Freeland? f*** this schmuck. Let's continue to use this series to fix our run differential.
  11. I am enjoying the season though. You can still enjoy the winning even if there are aspects to criticize. I've been a fan since 1988, believe me I know winning does not come easy. Any criticism I have will not stop me from enjoying the winning.
  12. Really because I keep hearing the reason they couldn't go after even better talent at the deadline was they don't have the depth of assets to do it unless they wanted to strip themselves bare. Also, who are the best homegrown players developed under the current administration? If I'm another team I don't know how much I trust the talent coming out of this organization.
  13. I'm a very happy man these days. Very happy. Team is in first place. Winning is fun. Why do you think that requires blind cheerleading? It does not. Not to me. I'm not going to glaze over things that are still true. There is a fluky aspect to this season, and we're extremely thin at the upper levels of our organization. This is a message board, this is where these things get discussed. If this team had another name on the front of their jersey, I'm very curious to know what people on here would be saying about this season and organization.
  14. Good news but there was no reason to expect the x-rays to show anything else. It would have been unlikely to break or tear anything on that part of the leg. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's a very deep bruise, it could be a bone bruise on two different bones. There could also be a lot of swelling emanating from the knee joint. I think there's still a possibility of an IL stint depending on how bad it is. If they expect him to miss three or four games they'll probably just throw him on the IL to give themselves flexibility.
  15. Don't stop scoring boys. We might yet need more runs.
  16. I still think he's a bit up and down. He's not a bad pitcher, dude never misses a start, and that has value, but I don't think he's suited to be anything more than a number four in a playoff rotation.
  17. Long-term he still may be our third baseman. But this would not be the year to push it.
  18. I don't know, they're just a really crappy team, obviously none of it is intentional.
  19. I'm thinking it'll just be a very bad bruise. It hit the side so it smashed the ligament but that's not going to tear the ligament, it probably hit the top part of the tibia and bottom part of the femur, but those are very strong parts of two of the strongest bones.
  20. I would have traded him for starting pitching given that we have Straw to give us the defense. He's never shown this type of power stroke on a consistent basis. I still think it's a bit early to assume it's going to keep up.
  21. Only thing I can imagine is they think they see something in his swing that they can fix. Dude was a really good offensive player just a couple years ago. He's not over the hill. Maybe they feel like they can "fix him" and if they can then suddenly they found themselves a really good platoon right-handed bat for virtually no cost. That's all I got. Otherwise it's a really goofy addition.
  22. I respect the boldness of this statement right before a start in that Colorado air. And yes, Francis had one of the worst starts to the season probably in franchise history.
  23. While everybody is busy fondling the nuts of our front office for a fluke season, I still see a pathetic minor league system with lousy organizational depth.
