    I don't buy this stuff about "messing up" a prospect by putting him in a pressure situation. What if he thrives? I believe the cream always rises. The ones who fail were always going to fail. I don't think you dismiss the possibility just "because". Especially when you don't have a lot of great options.

    We'd all love to have that problem. The bigger question is: What if he's perfectly healthy but doesn't get his groove back? Do you leave a bat like that off the postseason roster? Do you leave him out of the starting lineup?

    Pitching in general has been an issue all year, that's our weakness. We need a couple of starters and three or four relievers to get hot at the right time. It greatly increases our chances if we can avoid the first round. I still want to them to call up Yesavage and take a look at him.
