Had to go take care of something when it was 8-1.
Now I see it's f***ing 10-8 and we still got to find a way to get nine more outs lol
This f***ing team man. This f***ing management.
Maybe not, but we need a jolt. I don't know what the f*** is going on. I don't have the highest bar for this bullpen and they're even falling below my standards, it's like they've all caught this weird disease. Like their collective psyche is broken. I don't remember the last time the bullpen was as consistently f***ing awful.
We don't really have anyone that profiles as an ideal 2 hitter.
I like Lukes well enough, but he may be the 5th or 6th guy that I want getting the most at bats per game.
I agree that Barger is an odd choice right now. I think Schneider is trying to get Barger more fastballs to hit, but of course that requires Vladdy to start crushing again.
So it doesn't matter how many times Berrios implodes or Bassitt implodes, politics and feelings dictate they keep getting chances. But Lauer has one lousy start, after they completely f***ed with his routine, and it's off with his head.
I'm not surprised, but I still think it kind of sucks.
Well have you noticed what we have on the major league roster? They are tested and...well...they kind of suck. As a collective group the best they've been this year is mediocre.
Sometimes you try to catch lightning in a bottle.
I've seen the whole thing about the petition but I don't think they would leave this to chance, especially since it's not like we're sitting here with a 10 game lead and cruising.
It seems they just don't want him here. Whatever I guess we'll see.
Gutless f***ing cowards not giving Yesavage a chance at the postseason roster.
People can slobber all over their nuts all they want I still f***ing hate this failure of a front office.
Yes but the games against the Yankees are far more important than the games against the Reds.
One extra day is not going to make a difference, it's actually a shocking decision to me. I guess they can still adjust but what if the lead is down to one or two games do you really not want Bieber for one of those three? It's crazy.
According to ESPN Bieber is set to face the Reds instead of the Yankees.
Is ESPN just assuming based on recent schedule? I have to assume Bieber faces the Yankees given the enormity of that series compared to the Reds.
I didn't watch the whole game today did they mention anything about upcoming pitching matchups?
I'm pretty sure it was a universal opinion on here that this team was going to have to be very lucky just to be a wild card contender.
They've exceeded expectations, sometimes you have these magical years. Even then, you know the one thing that has been consistent? The pitching largely has been poor. The pitching is still a problem. It's still the thing most likely to kill this team.
Of all the playoff teams, in both leagues, I'm least impressed by the Tigers. They have that one ace, the ace of aces, they have some power bats. Of course anything can happen in a short series but, I don't know I don't find them all that imposing.
I remember being concerned that we didn't do nearly enough for our bullpen in 2021 and waited too long to address it. I was overreacting they said, we're on a roll and doing great, right up until we missed the playoffs by one game.
Was concerned about our bullpen again in 2022. Calm down you're overreacting they said. People actually liked that pen. We know what happened there.
Concerned about the offense in 2023, well in fairness everybody was, even the most staunch supporters of this team knew it was a problem.
I really wish people would stop projecting on here.
Just because somebody mentions concerns with the team, which a lot of people do on here, that doesn't mean they're hyperventilating or panicking or even depressed.
It just means they're pointing out concerns with the team. Which is what a message board is for.
Is that okay? Is that allowed?
Happy to get to win today, kind of amazing we didn't lose more ground but this team is leaking oil right now.
It seems every game we have to use too many arms out of the bullpen because a lot of guys are failing to get the job done. Scherzer is a concern and was always going to be a concern. We don't know what we're going to get from him.
It will be infuriating if they don't call up Yesavage with an opportunity to make the postseason roster. We have one silver bullet and we desperately need to try to use it.
A lot of things had to happen for us to be in this position this year and who knows when we'll get a chance again, especially with how wide open the American League is compared to a killer National League.
I'm old enough to remember when they were division rivals. But I didn't hate them like I hated other rivals. I respected them.
Awesome small market team.
Great atmosphere.
Bernie Brewer and his slide.
The sausage race.
Bob freaking Uecker!
Front Row Amy!!
How can anyone not like them?
Edit: I also love the logo. Very clever design.
