  1. I'm seriously too old for this man. The last time I got into a physical altercation was with a package thief who tried to steal my box of bounty paper towels two years ago. It wasn't much of an altercation because he was just trying to get back into his getaway car with his buddy but I sprained my ankle and that s*** wouldn't stop hurting for 6 months. In my defense I did have slippers on. I ain't fighting these days unless I'm protecting my life my family or my property and even then, I'm not fighting over bounty paper towels anymore.
  2. No point worrying about this now. Maybe Fisher will help, maybe Yesavage can give us a boost. We need three or four guys to be on top of their game. Having one of our starters in the bullpen might help, I personally think Bassitt is probably the best option.
  3. Yeah sure, I'll travel to downtown Toronto on a midnight to meet with some downtrodden fool from a baseball message board who has obvious mental health issues Lol
  4. It still may be a s*** turd for the next decade. Still has nothing to do with what I said about the next month and nor have you said a damn thing about that.
  5. You're like a yappy poodle that barks a big game standing behind its owner.
  6. I was unaware that this was a betting site. I simply laid out the reasons why this team might be running out of steam. Likewise I laid out the reasons why the competition has a very real chance to surpass us. Because you know, it's a message board where we discuss these things.
  7. I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest with you I'm trying to tell you this is a team that may be running out of steam and may not have enough to finish the season in first place and I've clearly laid out the reasons why I think that is. You can argue those reasons if you want, or not.
  8. Perhaps the Yankees and Red Sox. If we had a seven or eight game lead that would be one thing. We've been a .500 team over our past 30 games. Both the Yankees and especially the Red Sox have been better over that stretch. The other significant issue are the remaining schedules. Theirs are objectively better. We have serious bullpen issues and no way of fixing it anymore outside of calling up Yesavage. That's our one silver bullet. Assuming it even works. You could say whatever the hell you want about me, but it's seriously concerning and we can certainly see a scenario where they both pass us.
  9. Okay but what about the pitching and what about the quality of competition? If the name on the front of the Jersey was not Toronto would you still feel that we are realistically going to hold on to first the way things are going and with the schedules as they are?
  10. Well we have a much tougher schedule than the teams chasing us and a bullpen that can't get anybody out and a starting pitching staff that doesn't go deep. So give me your objective analysis of how we get this team through another month in first place? Enlighten me.
  11. Bye bye pinky finger. Don't tell me you're not getting the feeling that this team is running out of steam. Might not have enough to make it into the station if you know what I mean.
  12. Well, Fluharty was getting it done because the league wasn't used to him yet. They figured him out a bit. Little was getting it done because they were swinging at horrible pitches in the dirt. Those that didn't have blinders on knew this wouldn't last. Hoffman has been giving up home runs all year. Varland didn't have enough of a track record yet. Dominguez is the right-handed Little. Yariel was never as good as his ERA indicated and his velocity has fallen off. So yeah, there you go.
  13. Don't use Nance. He's probably our ace bullpen guy.
  14. Their lineup is terrifying right now. Stanton really put them over the top in terms of being totally unfair.
  15. Not only do we have to find a way to score at least six runs, we have to find a way to keep them from scoring more. Not liking those odds lol
  16. It's been obvious for a while that Yimi was not progressing and my expectation was pretty much zero that he was going to return this year anyway so hopefully this fixes the issue for him. Santander is where I was holding out some hope so this is encouraging.
  17. Best record in baseball and among the most talented. I still think a healthy Dodgers team is better, but they are tough. They score runs and they pitch exceptionally well. We score runs but we don't pitch so well. We need the best of Bieber tonight and we need him to go deep.
  18. I've been trying to hold on to hope for him as much as anybody but so far I see no reason to get excited about him.
  19. I don't know if this has been discussed much but the re-emergence of Stanton as a seriously legit hitter, ignoring how completely illegitimate he is as a defender, is a terrifying development for the rest of the American League. Judge, Bellinger and Stanton, flanked by a bunch of 20 home run hitters is going to be hell for pitchers to navigate four times a game. People love to make fun of the Yankees but that lineup can overcome a lot of flaws and mistakes while storming their way through the playoffs.
  20. There is a guy whose politics I could have guessed just by looking at that stupid face of his.
  21. You need people like me so you can point your f***ing fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what's that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy!
