I said earlier in the season before he got sent down he seems like a guy who should be much better than he was. Compact power swing, really good eye at the plate, mustache. I always felt like there was more there. I've been thrilled to see his turnaround this year, I feel like it should be sustainable at least to some level. He's even been hitting righties. I feel like he should be an everyday player right now. -
If only Berrios was pitching today. Two birds with one beanball. If they ask Little to do it he might accidentally strike him out on three pitches.

I think he needs to be plunked, I might have let the bat flip thing go, but going after Barger in this way is personal. You don't say s*** like that about other players. Especially somebody that had nothing to do with it. Imagine doing this to a fellow player because some fan who was chirping you happens to have him as their photo. Why the f*** are you responding to chirping fans anyhow? That might be why you're a seasoned vet playing on the f***ing Pirates.

Of course this happens in the second half when he's finally hitting like a star. Anyhow, hopefully it's just a few days, we should be able to overcome it in the short term.

It's not so much that they lost to the Pirates but how they lost that hurts. If Skenes was untouchable and a couple of their guys ran into one, it's easier to live with than the horror show that transpired. Either way, time only moves in one direction on to the next one.

We're all hoping like hell that Bieber comes back as a number one. We're also hoping as hell that Gausman can establish himself as a true number two. Would have been nice to have him show a little bit more against this lineup.

Gausman was okay. I would have preferred that the worst lineup in baseball didn't give him as much trouble as they did but it's not like it was a disaster either.

No it was at the top of the inning. The color guy unwrapped a new baseball and that made a lot of noise on the mic and play by play called him out. And it was because he wanted to demonstrate Gausman's grip, then play by play guy was like well why not do that when Gausman is pitching? Skenes is pitching now. So color guy continues to talk about Gausman's pitching because he got called out. It goes back and forth a bit. Then when the inning ends, play by play mockingly says that color guy is going to probably show you a Skenes pitch in the next half inning (mocking him because Skenes will no longer be pitching in the next half inning)

Is anybody watching the Pirates feed? Cuz there was a weird moment from the last inning where the play by play dude was being extremely passive aggressive with color guy, I don't know who they are I didn't catch their names but it was pretty funny if it was serious.

Asking a Blue Jays pitcher to not serve up any meatballs seems impossible these days but if you can avoid doing that, they will have to string together good at bats and they're not built to do that. I don't suspect we're going to get much of anything off Skenes so we might be able to win this game late as long as Gausman doesn't f*** us.

He's been a pretty good player from 2021 to 2024. Don't know what happened to him this year, maybe just some bad luck? There's no real risk for them. Maybe playing in a situation that matters will revive him a bit. Could work out real well as a platoon option at first.
