  1. Hilarious how we fought so well against Shitter with his elite stuff and can't do anything against crafty lefty Yarbrough. Hopefully it doesn't bite us. Not to disrespect Yarbrough, I was one of the ones that wanted him back.
  2. Yankees have been pitching well, their starters in particular. A few hiccups here and there with the pen but why in the hell would they not feel super confident right now? They can hit and they can pitch. Jays can hit but recently can't pitch. The Yankees should be licking their chops at a potential sweep this weekend. We got them at a perfect time when we faced them before and after the All-Star break, they are catching us at a perfect time right now.
  3. Yeah I'm aware he's been pitching closer to the pitcher he used to be even if he's not all the way there. On paper this might be our best chance in the series but he still won't be the favorite in tonight's matchup, we won't be the favorite in any of the three matchups on paper at least. Scherzer vs Gil maybe is a bit of a wild card.
  4. Good thing the Yankees don't have any guys who can take advantage of that right field porch 😉
  5. Shitter's last 4 starts have been outstanding. Gausman's been mostly good lately. Bednar threw over 30 pitches yesterday so he might not be available even though it was the only game he pitched in the series. Our pitching has got to show up for this series because trying to outslug them, especially in Yankees stadium, is a bad strategy.
  6. I have Springer and Bo ahead of Vlad, until recently I think a lot of people would have still had Vlad, that may have changed in the last couple of weeks. At the end of the day Judge and Cal are so far ahead of everyone else in the AL in value, except for Witt, they are going to run away with it. If George stays hot he might get some serious consideration for a top five spot but he won't be close to those two unless he goes absolutely unconscious.
  7. Pretty much nobody here or around the league would even consider him the best player on this team, most would say Vlad. So it's hard to be the MVP when you're not considered the best player on the team. Also are you somebody that is against having pitchers as MVP candidates? Because Skubal would also be a candidate, his team is right there with the Blue Jays.
  8. I really thought that the disengagement rules and the bigger bases would result in a ridiculous amount of stolen bases. I thought the disengagement rules in particular was actually over-the-top but it's just not happening the way I thought it would. I too am a big proponent of stolen bases and I want to see more if it in the game. But I'm also a dinosaur so maybe the kids just don't care.
  9. It missed by like an inch. But yeah given the context and the drama of looking like they were dead in the water and then they suddenly get a three-run shot, that would have brought one of their hottest power hitters to the plate with a chance to win the game in Stanton. Astros were legitimately in trouble. Almost a great comeback. Any fanbase would have gone ballistic on that call. There were other controversial calls that had the Yankees' panties in a bunch earlier as well.
  10. Where are the goal posts? Is it best player? Is it most impactful player? Is it most impactful or best player for a top team? Generally it's given to the best player in the league, because they are the most impactful player in the league even if it's not for a great team and I agree. Even if team success is brought into the equation, being a playoff team is generally more than enough (granted this is not locked in for Cal yet). Keep in mind, at least in Cal's case, he's a tremendous defensive player as well. George is a liability defensively and mostly a DH. I love George and his comeback season has been amazing and getting more ridiculous by the game. But the MVP is two man race.
  11. Hopefully Houston can win the series and give us a little bit more buffer in the loss column. Would be nice if they also got deep into the Yankees bullpen tomorrow.
  12. Loool. So we're just telling lies now I see. Wow the Jays finally have a year where they exceed expectations and suddenly you "know ball" lol. You're the broken clock of this board. You overrate this team every f***ing year. You call other teams in our division s*** when they've consistently accomplished more. Listening to you, one would think we've actually accomplished something in the last 10 years. I actually predicted the Blue Jays would be in the wild card hunt in the years that they made the wild card, so before you say I'm always predicting doom you're full of s***. This year I didn't, they're exceeding everyone's expectations, even yours. But the one thing I've consistently maintained in the last few years of failure, is they're not a World Series contender and they're supposed to be. I've been right about that. But you "know ball". Hey man you only need to convince yourself.
  13. Well there you go, a little bit of honest reflection instead of incessant cheerleading that's all I ask. If our pitching was hot right now I would be all over the Jays in this series, because we are hitting, it just so happens we're catching a Yankees team that's hitting the cover off the ball at a time where we're pitching like s***. Home runs especially will be a concern.
  14. Are we going to keep going back and forth on the same thing again and again and again? By the way, would you bet the Jays to win this weekend's series? Just curious.
  15. Yanks got f***ed on that strike three. I'll take it.
  16. I'll take that as a no on betting the Jays. And I don't bet, no need to, I have a perfectly good toilet to flush my money with.
  17. Charade? Get the f*** out of here. I spent more than my share of money and invested more time on this team than probably 95% of people on this message board. Obviously I want them to win every game but if you're betting money you have to bet with your head. So you betting Toronto or not?
  18. Dare you to bet the Jays in all three Yankees games. Even just two of them, your choice.
  19. Well the Rays are making things very interesting aren't they? They've just helped create a mess for that third wild card. Seattle really should be taking that spot but they just aren't playing up to their ability.
  20. Huh? Lol come on dude. First time watching baseball?
  21. Team just can't stop leaking runs man. Get the hot hitting Yankees in the Bronx next. No bueno.
