  1. Holy s*** the older one has absolutely ridiculous numbers - should be an immediate superstar in MLB. What position?
  2. Some pics I took from my 4th row seat: Gibby loves him some KP Atkins sitting, looking anything like a former ballplayer: Atkins loves him some Shapiro Maybe Atkins just loves to Chillax:
  3. Not quite sure what you are getting at here? Both regimes seem to enjoy dumpster diving to fill depth, and as we saw with AA, sometimes it works out very well.
  4. 2 of the past 3 years I went and stayed at hotels in Clearwater Beach. Just a short drive to Dunedin and it keeps the wife happy being on the beach! Also Clearwater Beach is central to other stadiums - be sure to catch a Jays road game at Bradenton (Pirates, an hour south), Clearwater (Phillies) and Tampa (Yankees). Also, get your tickets on stubhub if you want the best seats - last year I was able to get 1st row directly behind home plate for $50. Awesome perspective from those seats and it would cost probably $1000 each at the Rogers Centre.
  5. No, it doesn't. WAR is not a perfect stat. If the Jays had a 40 WAR pitching staff and a 0 WAR offense they would likely not perform as good as a balanced team with 40 WAR. You aren't allowing many runs with a 40 WAR pitching staff but you aren't scoring any runs with 9 Josh Thole's or worse in your batting order. usually a team with 40 WAR is easily making the playoffs. An unbalanced team with 40 WAR pitching/0 WAR hitting doesn't make the playoffs. We don't need Austin Jackson's 2.3 WAR. (and I doubt he repeats that in 2016) We already have a LF who projects for that in Saunders. And Pompey could be better. That WAR would be better off as pitching WAR.
  6. Yeah and how about the year prior? He hit .256/.308/.347 for a .655 OPS No thanks.
  7. I guessed 6 years, $135 million. Pretty good. But orgfiller, frenchsoup and nafro guessed 6 years, 132 million. Bang on!
  8. can i have my invite?
  9. Soooo...Kennedy got 5 years $70 mill? Dafuq? The Royals are f***ed on that one. Way to give up a pick for a replacement level pitcher dumbasses.
  10. f*** dat! I hope they stay in the Clearwater/Tampa area if they leave Dunedin.
  11. I truly wish you had no words. This place would be better for it.
  12. I'm with you on this. Really excited to see Pompey I hope he gets 400 AB this year
  13. There is no f***ing we way we see CC in LF for even 1 inning next year. Step back from the ledge, its a good trade.
  14. Ben Revere is a left handed Rajai Davis
  15. You realize Pompey, as bad as he has been, has a higher career OPS than Revere, right? And he's a better defender? Storen for Revere is a solid move that just makes sense on all levels.
  16. So if the Jays sign a pitcher for 9.5 mill just bury it in the other thread. Got it.
  17. How were we not in on this for that price? Nothing special was given up, they get a great piece when he walks from the comp pick. His $8 million salary fits in perfectly with about what we have left to spend, if indeed we are going to 145 million as has been reported. He would have solidified our bullpen BIG TIME.
  18. So am I in?
  19. Still room?
  20. Regarding the dirt infield announced by Brooks, anyone a bit concerned it could negatively affect our infielders? To wit: 1. The dirt won't slow the ball as much as the thick turf, so building around ground ball pitchers, which we assumed was the plan because of our turf will be less effective. 2. Is the dirt actually softer than our new improved turf? Is it going to be better for the health of our infielders? 3. Dirt is going to give more random hops. The turf was pretty predictable, and our infielders had an advantage knowing how it hopped every time - you could really see this with Coins especially. With the dirt causing more random, unpredictable hops we may lose a home field advantage.
  21. Pretty sure the old capacity was like 50,500. Its never been 56,000 for baseball
  22. http://www.quickmeme.com/img/5a/5ac3af004e6780c833cae0c9f089f614d636ce52a01128c089e95f0c8f349fb9.jpg
  23. 1. No the trend is to take guys who were successful with low payrolls, like Friedman. Shapiro is not one of those 2. Right. No one thought the Jays would be good in 2013. Come on. 3. We have a huge market, we should be able to play with the big boys. Should have kept this exact team together and added a bullpen piece and see what it can do. Of the posters I disagree with, SirBJay you are one of the more tolerable ones, as you don't hurl the insults like many others here. But to me, this place is becoming more and more intolerable overall. Its essentially become a place for a bunch of prospect porn fan boys to jerk off. Most of you would rather have a top farm system than win a World Series. Meanwhile, anyone who disagrees gets treated like they have Ebola. I need a break from this place, so I'm out. I only hope I can stay away permanently this time. (which I'm sure will make some of you very happy)
