  1. That's funny because according to Baseball Reference, Goins was 2.7 WAR and Hech was 2.1. Goins 2015 age 27: .672 OPS in 428 PA. Career .611 over 742 PA Hech 2015 age 26: .689 OPS in 499 PA. Career .638 over 1788 PA Both players have shown they can't hit a lick, with most of their value produced with the glove. If anything, Hech has proven he sucks with the bat in a larger sample size. Goins in a smaller sample size so maybe he has more room to improve? Again, both are basically slightly better versions of John MacDonald. In an ideal situation they'd be fantastic backup middle infielders. So why are you so worked up about us trading away Hech again?
  2. I think both will be backup calibre next year. If u think Hech or Goins is going to be an above average starting SS going forward you might want to rethink that.
  3. They are both gold glovers who can't hit. Youre the one overvaluing Hech. Im just dragging him back down to earth: Goins level. Your hate on for AA and the Marlins trade is getting annoying.
  4. Pretty safe bet. You should easily win.
  5. You aren't seriously trying to argue that we are missing Hech now, are you? I'd rather have Goins. We don't miss Hech.
  6. Dude, chill on this stuff. We almost made the World Series this year because of AA's moves. Isn't that the goal? With a bit of luck we would have been in the Fall Classic. It was a good trade. Even in hindsight I would do 100 times of 100. This season was so much fun!
  7. Is it safe to assume that some of the same people who do not want Price signed, want Heyward signed for similar money? If so, how does that even make sense? Our biggest need is pitching, not OF help. And Price is a top 10 pitcher. Heyward is not a top 10 position player. Not even close.
  8. Doubtful. More likely, he would have restocked the farm again (we have a lot of nice prospects at lower depths who could blossom in a few years). He managed to restock the farm quickly after the Marlins/Mets trades. Why couldn't he have done the same after the Tigers/Rockies trades?
  9. I get the feeling the prospect porn guys on here like BTS wouId rather have the #1 farm system every year over an actual perennial contender. And no one does not always equal the other: see Marlins, Expos, etc. To me the best run franchise is able to draft well as we did under AA (rebuilt system twice in 5 years) but then use some of them as currency when appropriate as we did. Yeah we f***ed up keeping Sanchez over Thor, but we got a lot right too. I was in favour of letting the Beast go, but i would have rather hired a business guy and kept AA. No need to go after the Shapiros and Kenny Williams of the industry. Shapiro is lucky, gets to inherit a good team that should win next year. If they do, he'll buy himself a lot if rope. I think some of you think hes going to turn us into St Louis Cardinals North. Wishful thinking but I don't see it. Im going to give him a fair shake, I hope he turns out as good as you guys think. But the track record in Cleveland doesn't make this a slam dunk. Stop dickriding him until he earns it - and no he hasn't earned s*** yet.
  10. The Shapiro nut hugging on here is baseless at this point. Im all for giving the man a chance but some of you need to get off his jock. Let's wait and see what he does.
  11. I sure hope so. Either way, I'm surprised most here are just happy that we aren't trimming payroll. Whats sad is that you guys are expecting cuts. I mean, if they trim payroll after what we just watched this year, they might as well just fold the franchise.
  12. Yes. I'm coming at this from a fan's perspective, not a nug hugging Rogers fanboy perspective. This place is trash lately. Just a bunch of fanboys who love prospects more than winning.
  13. I agree hilarious, so funny. Whats hilarious would be if Rogers keeps the payroll approximately where it was last year, despite likely making close to $100 million more thank expected due to the 2015 resurgence. They made about 30-50 million on playoff ticket sales alone (it would have been over 100 million if they had made WS and it went 7 games), plus all the extra food/drink they sold at those games, plus all those sellouts in the regular season. Then toss in the tripling (or more) of their TV audiences, means their TV revenues triple. Thats probably about 100 million more in their pocket than they originally planned. Instead of re-investing some of that and keeping the momentum going into next year they are just going to keep payroll the same? f*** ROGERS.
  14. Thor's pitch wasn't head hunting, not in the Royals sense anyways. The ball was head high and a bit in, but not that far inside to hit him in the head. If you watch the replay, Escobar could have maintained his normal batting stance and the ball would have missed him. It was exactly what they wanted to do - give him one up and in to back him off. Hilarious that the Royals, the most notorious head-hunting team in MLB are bitching about this. Lest we forget how many times s*** like this happened this year: STFU Royals.
  15. How the f*** is this good news? Did any of u actually think theyd dare lower payroll after that season? Im pissed. Anything less than 150 will have me furious.
  16. Yeah, perhaps I should clarify: I don't think they are a s***** team. They are a good team, with a terrible manager - but not a World Series champion caliber team in my opinion. Never in my life have I seen a team have this much luck. We should have crushed them.
  17. I need to vent and I need a dedicated thread for this so f*** it I'm starting a new one. What the f*** is with this f***ing Royals team? Last year during the World Series I rooted passionately against them. Couldn't stand them then. I'm certainly not a Giants fan but was so relieved they pulled out the WS win so this piece of s*** luck team didn't win. Despite having the derpest manager of all managers they somehow managed to get to the WS last year and it frustrated the f*** outta me, one bunt at a time. Now this? All over again but even worse this year? Yep. -Down 6-2 late in ALDS elimination game to the Astros, and Correa botches a routine grounder that opens the floodgates to their comeback? -Batting a guy with a .612 OPS as your leadoff hitter, while putting Alex Gordon in the 8 hole, AND IT KEEPS WORKING OUT FOR YOU? Since when is Alcides Escobar suddenly the best leadoff hitter in baseball? How the f*** does this even happen? Escobar had an OPS more than 50 points less than Ryan Goins this year for f***'s sake. Can you imagine if Ryan Goins was batting leadoff for us and hitting .500 and winning playoff MVP awards? -Last nights 4 base error...I mean, in the park home run. More on that later. Call it sour grapes, call it whatever. I f***ing hated this Royals team last year. I f***ing hate them more this year. Its as if the baseball gods are just pissing in all of our faces. Opponents hard hit balls are always right at them, yet everything they hit somehow finds a hole. Are you f***ing kidding me with that in the park home run last night? I mean, are you f***ing kidding me? Cespedes played it like a bag of toys, and then it goes off his knee and rolls 50 feet away? That set the tone for the entire World Series of course. Luck on top of luck on top of luck on top of luck on top of f***ing luck. And to top if all off, they also have the biggest *******s in baseball on the team. The series against us where they threw at Donaldson repeatedly for no reason. The series against the A's where they threw at Lawrie and 120 pound Ventura chirped whenever a grounder was hit back to him. Volquez, Ventura and Cueto. 3 smashable faces. Hell make it 4, add Hosmer to the mix. I'm sorry, but I can't get over our loss yet. I keep replaying that 9th inning over in my head and I can't believe we let this Royals team through again. We didn't even need to play great to beat them. We played poorly and still almost did. The Jays that we watched in the 2nd half didn't even show up in the playoffs and yet they still almost made the World Series. Pissing in my face. And just a heads up to Rays/Royals superfan BTS when you decide to respond: I've got you on ignore.
  18. Hopefully here comes the Cueto meltdown
  19. I did pretty good. I had 2 full strips of tickets and a series strip each for the ALDS and ALCS. I made about $1500 profit on the first 2 rounds and I also went to 4 playoff games. So I did alright. However of that $1500, $1000 had to go down a deposit to the season tickets I purchased to get the 2nd strip (other set was from voucher pack). The other $500 I blew at the games I went to LOL. I had already sold 6 pairs of WS tickets though and if the Jays had pulled it out and the series went 7 games I would have made about $10,000 total. So you can imagine my frustration at stranding a runner on 3rd with 0 out.
  20. Has Holland ever fist pumped after a big strikeout?
  21. Your girl is with you for your money. She'll do anything for you until you get married. Then you're f***ed.
  22. Does anyone here want to go to today's game with my tix? I will take best offer. PM me and make me an offer for my 500's. I'd rather see one of you get a discount instead of stubhub get the cash.
  23. Yup. Let's go bizzaro 1985. f*** you KC
  24. 150/ pair for my tickets. That's a steal, who wants em
