  1. So is Ryan Goins. And then you will love him again. you cannot seriously argue with me that Revere is a plus hitter. You just can't.
  2. We're done here. If you are going to continue to argue that a guy with a career OPS well south of .700 is a good hitter I can't take you seriously.
  3. Him not to be a slap hitter. Slap hitters suck. He has a career .677 OPS. Do you not understand the value of the basic stat OPS? .677 is f***ing horrible. No wonder you f***ed up your stubhub tickets.
  4. its the hollowest .300 average in the history of baseball bud. Pompey is a better defender as well.
  5. Pompey has a much higher ceiling. Revere is s*** and has been his whole career. Gibby is f***ing crazy man. If this team comes back to win the WS this year it will be in spite of him. This team would be so much better with a good manager. Head scratcher in the 9th for me - PH Pennington for Goins. I get pinch hitting for Goins, but with the only guy on the team worse than him? What the f***? And then he pulled a Ned Yost of course and it worked out for him when Penny walked.
  6. YT link took a dive...anyone got an alternate YT link? You can PM me if you want
  7. does anyone have a youtube link? I'm stuck at work and everything else gets blocked. Help a brother out!
  8. There's no way a baby can sit in a seat on its own.
  9. ^the kind of guy who sits first row at 3rd with baby then flinches out of the way when foul ball comes his way. No big deal, babies aren't made of glass, right? Theres a difference between playfully bouncing/jumping your baby around, and idiotic parents freaking out jumping in the moment like I saw at game 1, where the babies head was flopping around. I don't need a doctor to tell me thats f***ed up. I'm a parent with 2 young girls myself and I would NEVER have done that to them at that age. Its just f***ed up bud. My kids haven't spent their lives locked in a padded room *******. They've had amazing experiences, first baseball game at age 2. and traveled all over with us. But not as newborn babies. If your child was 1 year old it was probably fine. But under a year is just stupid. If you want to continue to argue this despite the fact that 95% disagree with you that's your problem.
  10. A Cubs/Jays World Series would be unbelievable.
  11. Wow I can only imagine the pickup line you used on your girlfriend. Must have been real memorable. Keep bragging to strangers. We care.
  12. Didn't you also say you worked at Sportsnet? If thats the case there's no way you can actually afford these things, the pay is s***. Unless you are Greg Zaun. Are you Greg Zaun? Are you drunk right now?
  13. Yup, agreed. It was so amazing to take my 5 year old daughter to the game with me last night. I hope she never forgets it. She's really into the Jays - she knows every single player, their position, and spot in the batting order, I thought I was a baseball nut but shes beyond where I was at that age!
  14. Its not about the haters, its about the safety of an infant. Get with it bud. Obviously you are not a parent.
  15. Yes but its a fact that people get drunk at games and 1% can ruin it for everyone else by throwing things. You wouldn't take your 1 year old kid on a vacation to Baghdad or to the Gaza strip. But why not? You shouldn't have to worry about people blowing themselves up, right? Under no circumstances should that be happening....but yet it does. Obviously you wouldn't take your children to a dangerous place. I know thats an extreme example but it helps me make my point. Unfortunately a Jays game can be dangerous to an infant. Avoid the risk, don't take your baby to a game. When my daughters were infants we just didn't go to games. Or else I went with a friend while my wife stayed home. It sucked but its a sacrifice you make for a couple years. Get a sitter if you want to go with the wife, or if you are too freaked out about leaving a baby with a sitter, then tough it out and watch from home. There are sacrifices you make as a parent when having kids. I'd much rather sacrifice not watching the game, rather than sacrifice my child's safety.
  16. Is it just me or is this an incredibly stupid idea? I remember going to a Leafs/Devils playoff game about 15 years ago at the ACC with my girlfriend (now wife). We had a couple with a newborn about a month old beside us. No ear protection. It was so loud, likely hearing damage at that young age. We both couldn't believe the parents brought the baby. Not to mention they were jumping around with her a lot too. I have been at all 3 playoff games this year at home. At all 3 of them I saw multiple babies under 6 months old at the game. Granted most of them did have hearing protection, but some did not. There was a mother in the section beside me in game 1 who was jumping up and down when Jose hit his HR with the baby flopping all over the place - it easily could have had neck damage and it was horrible to watch. Even being a rabid sports fan father myself, I would never even consider bringing my child under the age of 1. There is no point. The baby could be injured by thrown debris. Mom jumping. Other people celebrating too hard right next to mom. Hearing damage from the noise. I want to grab every parent who does this and slap them silly. Get a sitter, leave your baby at home. There is no way they will remember any of this, however unfortunately they may be permanently scarred from the experience.
  17. I'm surprised that tickets aren't selling for significantly more than they are right now for the ALCS. Ticket price face value has doubled for 500 level seats, yet the increase in stubhub prices has been extremely minimal so far, similar prices to game 1 of ALDS. I sold my 500 level seats early on for first round for 4.5 times face value. My same tickets are now listed at slightly more than double face value. I wonder if that will go up or down once times are announced?
  18. My prediction on the other hand... Keep in mind I started this thread when 3/4 the board was sure it was over and I put a permanent ban on the line. Glad it all worked out! Amazing!
  19. I was at the game. Just home after a long drive. Took my 5 year old daughter, who is a massive Jays fan already. What an unbelievable game to have been at. Something we'll both have for the rest of our lives. I'm still kind of in shock that I was actually at this game!
  20. Oh god. You could have got 10 times that and it wouldnt have made you feel any better after missing THAT ONE. I was there with my 5 year old daughter. Unbelievable experience for us both, we'll never forget it. Still in shock.
  21. Joey and EE are deadline trade chips if we aren't in contention... If we are we keep obviously. Agree about revere id rather trade him but he's worth jack.... Move Joey to 1b, Pompey in lf Saunders in rf
