  1. Well said. For example, instead of Chavez for around $5 million, would we all not much rather have taken a 1 year flyer on Rich Hill for the $6 million for one year and kept the Aussie?
  2. Or the 3 idiots who didnt even give Cutch a vote at all. There were 2 who didnt think was worth a top 10 either.
  3. I bought my Season's in section 239 Row 2. (bought them in September) Today I also bought a 20 ticket voucher pack just in the hopes I get more playoff tickets from it. Got Canada day, and the Sat/Sun games in September vs the Yanks and Red Sox. Then added the home opener after. All should be easy to sell for profit.
  4. Its all of the bobbleheads, t-shirts etc. Saves ST holders from having to show up 4 hrs early for those giveaways
  5. http://assets1.sportsnet.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/1704050871_4558418822001_dioner-navarro-640x360.jpg http://ak-hdl.buzzfed.com/static/2015-10/6/15/imagebuzz/webdr08/anigif_optimized-3340-1444161208-1.gif
  6. Sorry guys front page link on sportsnet. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/dan-shulman-to-join-blue-jays-broadcast-team-on-sportsnet/
  7. Awesome! For 30 games. Hopefully it leads to full time!
  8. someone called him "f***ing terrible" which is ridiculous. He'd be a great backup catcher if we could afford him. Thats the thing. Maybe as you suggest he would be too expensive. But it depends what our payroll is. If we're willing to spend $12 million on a #4 starter (Dickey) we should be willing to spend $4-5 million on a decent backup catcher for insurance if Martin gets hurt. Its a pretty important position. We'd be left scrambling if we were ever forced to rely on Thole for a long period of time. My original post was made in the hypothetical situation where Navvy would want to come back. If the market doesn't present itself to him the way he wants, he may very well be willing to come back and be a backup catcher for a team with World Series aspirations.
  9. I think Cleveland accepts that one
  10. Unbelievable the hate for Navvy in this thread. I'm quite surprised. Below average backup catcher? Come on.
  11. 2 years ago we managed to snag Navarro for 2 years, $8 million. Anyone think he'd be willing to sign a similar contract again? Maybe 2 years, $10 million? If we don't sign him we're likely going to get stuck with the Thole and Dickey show. Switch hitter, and most importantly, if something were to happen to Martin for a stretch of time, we wouldn't be completely sunk having to go with Navarro for a while. If we end up going with Thole/Martin, if Martin gets hurt, we're f***ED. I don't think $5 million is that much to spend on an above average backup catcher, who can act as capable insurance for Martin. Plus he works well with Marco and the other players seem to love him. I guess my question is, if you could get Navarro to sign a 2 year deal for $5 million or less per year would you do it?
  12. Alford, Sanchez, Revere ++ for Carrasco. Hell, I'd trade Stroman + Pillar for Carrasco.
  13. Yeah, I don't rely on Stoeten for anything. I just think its hilarious that the arrogant piece of s*** constantly neglects his followers by only updating his site when he feels like it. He's a piece of s*** based on his treatment of others and he doesn't deserve to be in the situation he's in - an accredited media person. A lot of posters here would be way better at what he does and deserve it far more.
  14. Guys, according to Stoeten, the Jays and Estrada are finalizing the deal but its not official. LOL what a joke he is. (stoeten) Guy tries to break news and keep fans updated but then just f***s off for days/weeks at a time and leaves his website out of date. How he has loyal followers is beyond me.
  15. I'm confused. You want Doubront to be our #3 starter ahead of Dickster and Marco?
  16. LOL, Frampton is a buddy of mine
  17. WTF is going on in Atlanta these past few months? First Wood, now this? WHAT DEE FAWK
  18. I can't imagine what would happen here if in a couple years the Jays locked up Goins for 120 million. Haha!
  19. You are trying to argue with me that Hech is a good hitter being held back by his ballpark which is completely asinine. If only John MacDonald got to play in Colorado in his prime. Think of the potential WAR that were locked up in that bat! Thanks, I will have a great night now that I don't have to continue this ridiculous back and forth with you.
  20. I know, its pretty unbelievable. Luckily it appears I've scared off GD so we don't have to continue this insanely stupid argument.
  21. I think I know why we didn't win the World Series this year. We needed to have our answer to Alcides Escobar: Adeiny Hecheverria batting leadoff for us in the playoffs. Thats what was missing. That f***ing Marlins trade cost us the World Series!
  22. Who is the 3 WAR SS you are referring to? Goins was 2.7 this year, most of it based on defense. Hech was 2.1 this year, most of it based on defense. Again, neither will ever be an above average hitter. They could both play in Colorado and still would be below average hitters.
  23. Christ. This isn't about making Goins into something he's not, even though he out-WAR'd Hech last year. Its about you 2 trying to make Hech into something he's not. For the last f***ing time: Hech is not worth losing sleep over. If you think the thing holding Hech back from blossoming as a hitter is Miami's ballpark, I've got one word for you: DERP. Whats holding Hech back from hitting is that he can't hit.
