  1. Meh - that's not too bad. They look paper thin and really cheap, but at least they aren't plastered with Rogers or Honda logos. Unfortunately, they don't look good enough to proudly wear to future games and thus are a dud IMO. Why can't they just get a bunch of the Chinese jersey you can get off the internet for $40 and double check they spell everything correct and such.
  2. Jose Fernandez was one of the best pitchers who ever touched a baseball. Let's not use him as the example please. It's like saying Pujols adjusted well straight out of A ball so let's try it with Alford.
  3. Whoa....they might regret that one if there's a blown call or unusual ruling against the Jays!
  4. What do the replica jersey's look like? Are they s***? At face value, those seem like the premier giveaways.
  5. Or they could just tell the PA to f*** off.
  6. My god Osuna is ugly.
  7. I went probably 7 years ago. At that time, everyone was there except Vernon Wells. Meeting Doc was simply the best. It's a great event. One tip is they say something about only being able to bring 2 things to get "signed", but there were guys with entire cases of balls. I tried to follow the rules, so I have one ball with Doc's autograph and another ball with everyone elses
  8. Massive risk - seeing as he's coming off the "Maness" elbow surgery. That said - worth a spring invite!
  9. Given the haul that Andrew Miller and Chapman netted the Yanks last year (couple of top 30 prospects), the White Sox should hold him, hope for a bounce back season and trade him at the deadline. I mean he's not Chapman or Miller, but he's been a dominate pitcher throughout his career. There's absolutely no reason to trade him for some non-prospect while eating salary.....the Sox aren't financially strapped, they're just rebuilding. New topic.
  10. They should have made it their first pick in the 2017 draft and a 1st round in the 2018 draft...not actually giving up a top 50 pick is a bit of a joke.
  11. I'm referring to the reality that essentially the entire 1984 Expos team was high on cocaine all season long (note - I didn't actually look up what year it was, but it was discussed with the whole Tim Raines HOF discussion).
  12. Someone update Wikipedia please. Did they ban the entire 1984 Expos too?
  13. I kinda wish someone hacked the Jays system!
  14. I never knew Ferguson Jenkins was banned. Wikipedia suggests it's because he was caught with cocaine, hash and weed at the border. I don't quite get this one.....nor do I get how he could be elected to the HOF while still on the banned list. Those smarter than me....go!
  15. Yeah I'm just kidding, but its surprising to read they would consider trading for Cron or Butler. I mean Chris Carter and Napoli kinda suck, but there's no need to trade for bums like Cron, Butler or Smoak when they are on the market for next to nothing. TB should finally maximize Miller's value by moving him to 2nd (and he hits like he did last year he might be a 3-4 WAR player).
  16. With second base now open, the Rays' primary plan is to move Brad Miller to the keystone, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Miller, who made the move to first base last season, is no stranger to second, where he started 18 games from 2013 to 2015. The Rays have a few options to fill first base, if desired to do so externally. Perhaps the best free agent option remaining is also one they've been linked to in recent days, Chris Carter. Jon Morosi of MLB Network said Friday that the team is interested in the 30-year-old, who hit 41 homers this past season. Other options include fellow free agents Mike Napoli and Mark Reynolds, and Topkin lists C.J. Cron and Billy Butler as possible trade targets. With a glut of outfielders and a pitching staff that could still stand to lose an arm, more trades could be in the offing before Opening Day. Potential landing spot for Justin Smoak!!!
  17. Is this where we post pictures of FA catchers who are nowhere near the caliber of Russell Martin???
  18. Jesus if we traded for Robertson and signed Blevins, there's be little to no uncertainty in our pen...at least no more uncertainty than any of the other top bullpens in baseball.
  19. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/tyler-glasnows-considerable-stride-and-crucial-small-steps/ I thought this was a cool article. I love the chart of extension v. perceived velocity. Glasnow is in his own category all together...wish you could hover over the other bubbles and find out which pitcher they are though.
  20. That's terrible. As a parent, stories like these are hard to read. I can't even being to imagine.
  21. holy skinny arms!
  22. Based on Law's response, he believes Bellinger will remain at 1st base (and thus I'd assume his rankings would suggest that as well). The difference between a stud defensive first baseman and one who's below average can't be the difference between being ranked 6th overall vs. outside the top 100. Whatever. KLaw is a dewb.
  23. So Tellez posts a higher wRC+ and higher ISO in the same league, at the same age and he's light years behind Bellinger? I'm not sure I buy it. This is more of a vote of confidence for Tellez than a slight at Bellinger. It would be interesting to know if KLaw considered Bellinger as a 1st basemen in his rankings...and if not - where would he rank if he ultimately is a 1st baseman.
  24. If he can play a passable CF - then WTF would they even list or consider him at 1st base? Who's he think is he - Darrin Erstad?
