    I think Shaw signed with a verbal agreement he would be a full time starter (and not platooned). We are probably just using the pair of lefties as an excuse to give him a few more days to ensure he's 100%

    I have to believe there were commitments re: usage (pitching and hitting) in his original agreement that the Angels have to fulfill (unless they can get his buy in to scrap the pitching).

    Perhaps mentioned earlier (I just tuned in and logged on after watching Ghostbusters with the boys), but Vlad has changed his stance. Hand starting much lower. Couple of dubs will help the confidence.

    It is - but he was also lights out on the mound and the mere fact he was so good both pitching and hitting creating a unique and tantalizing experiment. The type of s*** that MLB needs. Unfortunately, some experiments fail. It's truly awful for MLB and the Angels.

    Shouldn't we be sending Yamaguchi down to the taxi squad (or whatever it is called) and get Tice or Murphy up with the big league team? Let him work out his issues down there. I wonder if he's still struggling with the larger ball.

    To be fair to the O's - this would be like Dwight Smith Jr. transforming into a legit regular.

    He's not wrong. Biggio was an inch away from us getting out of it without giving up a run. I personally love his shot at Vladdy here - who didn't make the play at 1st. Wouldn't it be nice to hear that Vladdy is putting in a ton of extra time at the diamond working on his defense at 1st?

    Joe Kelly is a ****. Wasn't he on the 2018 Red Sox that were also punished for cheating? Will he throw at the batters from that team too?

    Yeah it was like they were obligated to do it, but nobody really cared. I'm not even 100% sure Joe Kelly was doing any of it on purpose. His command was just s***. I think he was frustrated in himself and then at the Houston players for the looks like he was doing it on purpose so he got worked up.

    Nah, it's not that simple. Pitchers can definitely try too hard - or try to be too fine in certain situations if they know there's no room for error. That usually compounds into other issues. I f***ing love analytics as much as the next guy, but there's still some human component to it and this is a good example of it. I've pitched in a men's league for the past 20 years. I realize it doesn't effect everyone the same, but it happens and it probably happens more in younger players.
