  1. The reality is if he leaves Anderson in and he gives up a blooper and then a 3 run HR - most would bitch that he left him in too long. Like it or not, we are in a era where marginal starters (like Anderson) don't face lineups a 3rd time - primarily because the numbers suggest it's a terrible idea. In hindsight, he should have left Anderson in - and I'd fully support if he left Ryu and Roark in a bit too long also, while simply stating to the public that his bullpen is taxed right now and he had to get more innings out of his starters - even if it comes with diminishing results. The Jays need to mix in a few blowouts to help the cause. We are playing a s*** ton of close games right now.
  2. Is it just me, or does it seem like Teo is running at like 80% effort when he's in the OF? I think it was Vasquez that hit one over his head last night that bounced on the warning track....looked like he was jogging after it. He's like the anti-Pillar. Good thing he's crushing the ball still.
  3. 8 games bruh - away games are a thing. Point still made.
  4. Todd Norman JFL19 is a pretty bizarre name.
  5. Hope she's doing better man. Best wishes.
  6. I'll admit Spanky, my hate for Vlad is getting deep. Probably a tad unhealthy.
  7. Could you imagine if he's the next Cito? Team rallies and wins the WS in spite of their s***** manager?
  8. f*** - today's 6 through 9 might give them a go for the record!
  9. Independent league. He can go play with Kloffenstien.
  10. You have to imagine they are worried his arm will fall off if he's pushed too much. It always has.
  11. fair enough. I won't lie - I hate Machado and hope he fails.
  12. I'm just curious. Statcast numbers are WAY down so far this year and if I'm the Padres, I'm pretty f***ing pissed if I committed 10 years and $300M to a sub 110 wRC+ hitter (like he was in 2017 and 2019). You have to think they were expecting to get the elite 131 to 140 wRC+ hitter he was in 2015, 2016 and 2018, especially during his age 27 to 30 seasons (followed by some decline).
  13. What's SSS? The 108 wRC+ he posted in 661 PA's last year, combined with the 104 wRC+ he's posted this year? Or the Statcast data? When I suggested Vlad's statcast data was actually pretty disappointing, I was told the results of 19 games from this season matter because they stabilize quickly.
  14. https://www.mlb.com/news/clayton-kershaw-velocity-increase-2020 Nice little article on Kershaw, who may have regained some velo this year. I was looking at Kershaw's numbers and they are f***ing insane. I was shocked to see his ERA was only 3.06 last year (first year over 3.00 since his rookie year in 2008!). I'll be honest, I probably only pay attention to him when he's in the playoffs and he's looks 'cooked' the past couple of years. It seems like he's using smoke and mirrors, but evidently, he's still getting the job done.
  15. What's with Machado in SD? Is he really just a slightly above average hitter now? Is 2017 and 2019 more in line with his true talent? His statcast numbers are awful this year - well below 2017 and 2019
  16. I'd like to see him replace Buck in the booth.
  17. If by progress you mean he's decreased his launch angle this year - then yes.
  18. In all seriousness though - this is why the Jays locked up Grichuk when they did. They felt there was potential to take the next step as a hitter, while the floor was super high at $10M per
  19. This is why Grich was taken before Trout!!!
  20. If Nate and Vlad were even league average, we're probably sitting above .500 in the playoff hunt. Add in a major league manager and we'd be laughing. Instead we get this.
  21. Drury hitting 6th. This lineup is god awful. When the f*** is Fisher back?
  22. It's going to take the full 60 games (+ probably another 60 next year) for me to buy that Grichuk has made sustained improvements to his game. When he's hot he's hot and he's hot right now. Buck did his annual talk about how Grichuk's made real adjustments at the plate last night - how he's swinging at 'his pitches' and thinking up the middle. I hope that's not where this discussion originated from because only sheep would take anything Buck says seriously. I wish Jomboy would do a breakdown of how Buck's made the same claim about Grichuk (and Pillar before that) for the past 5-7 years.
  23. Why don't Buck and Shulman know that Castro's only be averaging 98 MPH with the fastball for last year and this year?
  24. Nice backup Vlad. You sit there an conserve your energy you fat f***.
