    The difference is Kirk's always been super fat. He's accustomed to it. Vlad was always large, but he's gone from large to obese (think HR in Montreal v. Vlad in July/August). His adapting to his body changing.

    This reminds me of the video posted recently of Vlad hitting the walk off dinger in Montreal. It's like Vlad and Kirk joined Randy Santel for a food challenge trip across America immediately afterwards.

    f*** - I missed the game and was listening to the end of it on the car on my way home. I was pumped to hear Vlad had 3 extra base hits. Then I saw that highlights. f*** me.

    Interesting breakdown. I understand the financial justification for keeping the expanded playoffs - but this breakdown, for me, tells me the current format is really solid and I'm disappointed they are going to change it. Maybe it will just end up like the NBA where the #1 seed beats the #8 seed almost every single time in a relatively unimportant playoff round.

    It's hard imagine any projection system would suggest Vlad will be our best hitter for the remaining portion of our season.

    No worries - his 142 wRC+ also confirms he shouldn't be hitting 7th. He's our 3rd best hitter.

    Yeah it's all just TV talk. That said - what's wrong with saying "The Browns offense looks like they have some mojo back this week. Obviously the Bengels defense isn't strong, but this has to help their confidence moving forward"

    What is wrong with Jack Flaherty? Adam Wainwright is the Cards best pitcher this year - that's pretty incredible. Always loved watching him pitch.

    f*** Tim Anderson. How does he still have a BABIP over .400 (did last year too) without hitting the ball that hard? Freeman's making a push for NL MVP - after recovering from a bad bout of COVID too. Mookie still there also.

    If deGrom wins his 3rd straight Cy Young award this year at age 32 - how many more WAR does he need to reach the HOF? If he remains dominant (5-7 WAR per year) for 3 more years through age 35 and then slowly declines (10 WAR combined for the rest of his career), he'll end up around 60 career WAR. Is that enough? Anyone else notice his fastball velo is up about 1.5 MPH this year? Incredible.

    Joe Borrow v. Baker Mayfield Gotta get the #1 pick (and the former #1) some prime time. Plus there's a chance to make Cleveland Steamer jokes.

    That's an awesome move IMO. Replicate (closer) to a regular season scenario. Bring strategy into the game instead of the same 3-4 arms being used out of the bullpen every night.
