  1. agreed, but it's a nice deal for the Brewers. Wong is a solid player.
  2. I'm going to assume he means Marquez.
  3. Her picture is officially listed on the wikipedia website under "digger, gold" I think she meant she was 25 when she started having plastic surgery. She gets asked that more than how old she is.
  4. He is. I think that's also why Boucher's minutes got cut in half. FVV, Boucher, Stanley Johnson, Yuta, T.Davis - the Raps are consistently able to find no-name players (yes Johnson was a top 10 pick - but he'd previously sucked) and develop them into legit players. If nothing else, that's fun to watch.
  5. you need to let this one go. The FO knows what they are doing.
  6. Projections. Steamers has Vlad projected as the 9th best hitter in baseball this year. History suggests batters who were 15% above league average at the age of 21 become beasts at the plate. Will Vlad? I don't know - projections obviously aren't always right. But that's why you'll see many pencil him into the cleanup spot (for the next 10 years I hope).
  7. Well duh - I love that website. Tellez's page has lots of those beautiful red circles on it. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/rowdy-tellez-642133?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb
  8. I don't really know what Salvant Hitting Metrics are - but I like that they said Tellez's were great, if not elite last year. How amazing would it be if Tellez's results from 2020 were sustainable?
  9. You shut your whore mouth. Cooperstown is incredible - even if there are debates about who got in, or who should get in (and at the end of the day, that gives people a reason to talk about baseball, which is a good thing). That said - if they could incorporate what your suggesting into Cooperstown - then sure.
  10. I wonder if it's time to try him in the pen. If his fastball plays up, he could be an Andrew Miller type with that slider.
  11. and Longoria?
  12. yeah that's fair - I was drawing a complete blank on anyone who left Colorado and maintained his production....not many have. Holliday did and DJLH somehow went from league average to one of the best hitters in baseball.
  13. He's exactly the type of player this team needs to be a true WS contender. This is our window and 2-4 years is short enough to mitigate the risk. That deal is essentially done by the time we have to extend the core.
  14. good one - he's probably the best example (only one?). DJLH is a different case as he was a league average hitter while in Colorado.
  15. Has there ever been a stud player leave Coors Field that continued to be a great hitter?
  16. 2 years $80M 3 years $105M 4 years $120M
  17. This is a very unique and completely different situation IMO. Unloading a massive deal like Arenado's in a year when like 5 teams are spending (and most of those teams have already spent their wad) and the player can control which team he goes to (or doesn't want to go to) is a lot different than unloading your top pitcher who's still in his arbitration years.
  18. For me - I'm not sure I want the Jays to add Arenado at 6 years $149M right now if it prevents us from adding pitching and/or hurts our ability to lock up the core long term. Based on the team we have today, we'd be better to use that money for Bauer + Rosenthal.
  19. Yeah imagine the numbers he could put up if he got out of Coors Field...
  20. This year? I don't think so (I also think Rendon is better than Arenado in general). There aren't many teams in baseball looking to add a lot of payroll. You could argue that you're banking on values returning to normal in 2022 or 2023, but who knows. Unfortunately for the Rockies - if they wait....and values return, then Arenado opt-out and is gone.
  21. I think we have to consider the possibility Arenado doesn't opt-out. If Arenado was a FA this year, there's no way he's getting 6 years $199M with an opt-out and NTC. So he's a negative value contract and I suspect they had a very difficult time finding anyone to take him for free at that cost. So the Rockies pitch in another $15M and another opt-out to get him to consider waiving his NTC, then they have to dangle $50M to find anyone to even consider taking him. Then you consider he can bail on the team acquiring him at the end of this year or next year and bam - he simply isn't worth a lot IMO. The Rockies had to find a team willing to take on Arenado for 6 years $149M with 2 opt-outs....and it had to be a team that Arenado wanted to go to. Do you think teams would give us anything of value for Springer in a trade right now? I doubt it.
  22. I agree. He'll still have 5 years $164M owed to him after this season. Unless COVID vanishes and the market corrects, I'm not sure he's going to do any better than that. Maybe after the 2022 season when he's only got $129M left on his deal? That might be why he got the additional opt-out added.
  23. Could the $50M only be provided if he doesn't opt out?
  24. Rosenthal is a f***ing beast. He'd be a huge add - but I suspect he's looking for somewhere he can close...
