  1. Perhaps - although you're getting Musgrove's prime years, instead of getting the declining stage of Tanaka, Paxton, etc. (assuming no Bauer). There's a chance Musgrove has another level.
  2. Probably using a new product for grip.
  3. I'm with you Spanky. I like Musgrove. Who's our equivalents to what the Padres gave up?
  4. Prospects Hudson Head, David Bednar, Omar Cruz and Drake Fellows are going back to Pittsburgh.
  5. I don't care what you thing either - but you're setting yourself up for disappointment if signing the top 2021 FA is the only thing that will make you satisfied as a fan.
  6. That can't be true. Talk about setting unrealistic expectations.
  7. There will be all sorts of "OK" options that don't break the bank. LaStella would be great. Sign Wong and move Biggy to 3rd (I don't really understand people who have concluded he can't play 3rd). If we signed Springer, there's a great chance that Martin is our starting 3rd basemen in 2022, if not sooner. There's a chance he's Bregman or Rendon there too.
  8. This. f*** me. This is the first guy we're rumored to be interested in that is a hard pass for me (assuming he's going to get real money offered to him).
  9. I'm with you. Such a fascinating team with Trout, Rendon and Ohtani...but they are such a mess. They also need a SS if they aren't bringing Simmons back and Justin Upton needs to figure his s*** out.
  10. Springer probably only plays CF for another 2-3 years - so yes.
  11. This - we're not f***ing trading Martin. We have 2 large holes right one. One at 3rd (or SS if they actually think Bo moves off there) and CF. Martin fills one of those holes - possibly as soon as late 2021.
  12. Man - tough break for the Browns on the Higgins end zone fumble. Not one mention by the broadcast crew that the Chiefs safety speared Higgins with his helmet. Isn't that supposed to be a penalty? Edit - apparently there was some discussion on it that I missed.
  13. He's the only reason to tune in right now...
  14. I spit out my coffee when you suggested we give JBJ a 4 year Contract. Hard No.
  15. Mets have upper hand because Springer wants to play near Connecticut?
  16. Springer is over a year younger, has a much longer track record and currently plays a premier position (of need for the Jays). He's definitely worth more than DJL. Seeing DJL get 6 years sets the bar and we should expect Springer will also get 6 years. DJL only got $15M/year - and seemingly took less AAV to get the 6th year. I think Springer gets $20 - $25M AAV If a surprise team gets involved or the Mets throw caution to the wind, I think the Jays need to give him 6 years / $150M and get outside their comfort zone. Otherwise, I think 6 years / $135M makes Springer a BJ (that's 50% more AAV than DJL, which accounts for him being better and the premium to come to the Jays). If I'm the Jays, I front end it too. $35M,$30M, $25M, $20M, $15M, $10M. Springer gets his cash up front (compound interest) and gives the Jays more flexibility when Vlad, Bo, Biggy, Pearson, Teo need to get paid. To be honest, if you could get a front ended structure like this, I see no reason to lose him over $15M total either...get it done.
  17. If the Jays offered 4 years $78M, then that's $4.5M more per season to come to Toronto - that's 30% more per season. The guy went from a 90 wRC+ hitter in 2017 and 2018 to one of the best in baseball the past 2 years. His setup is near perfect in NY and I'm certainly not surprised he wanted to stay put. If he wanted to make as much money as he could, then he'd probably be signing in Toronto and betting on himself to age gracefully.
  18. Maybe you shouldn't listen to rumors.

How f***ing hard is this? The classic Oilers uni from the late 80's / early 90's is awesome.
  20. I saw a couple of hypothetical trades the Raps could make Powell + 2021 2nd for Marvin Bagley McCaw + two 2nd's for Zach Collins I like both these options to improve the front court.
  21. I'm just looking at their history. Roark and Walker have similar career FIP and xFIP and Roark isn't made of glass. Roark was horrid last year, but I think there's a decent chance he returns to the guy he was in 2018 and 2019 - while there's probably a good chance Walker doesn't eclipse 50 innings.
  22. What a massive deal. Kyrie is f***ing insane. Incredibly stupid.
  23. Stability within the FO and organization in general should be viewed as a positive - especially for a team on the brink of contending.
  24. I think there's a strong possibility that Roark is significantly better than Walker this year.
