That's a fair take. He definitely over did it at times, but man - can you imagine taking those calls day after day? I'd go insane. -

Unpopular opinion, but I liked Wilner as the PBP voice. I also loved how he s*** all over all the morons who called into the post game show. The world needs knights like Wilner who consistently s*** on people with uneducated opinions. -
Damn - that Fisher Cats hat is awesome. You can show me any picture you want - this isn't a kid who's worked out a lot in his career. If he does, and builds muscle, there's a chance he realizes even more potential IMO (v. a top prospect who is already chiseled like Yasiel Puig)

I don't know man - it's pretty obvious he hasn't been on any sort of strict workout routine in his life. He's built like a milk bag. Vlad can tell you about that time he flipped a tire or did a couple of curls, but it's pretty obvious he underestimated the effort required to maintain the body of a professional athlete. Hopefully he's learned his lesson and has adjusted his lifestyle to sustain some long term improvements.

That's pretty scary in it's own right. One of the best prospects of all time who's put little to no extra effort to get to this point. I don't know if this is true, but you'd have to think that gives him a much higher ceiling v. the kid who's been weight lifting since he was a tween and already had his body is premium condition as he ascends up the ranks.

The real question will be whether he can sustain it or not.

Howie Kendrick? The only other that comes to mind is Neil Walker, but he accepted. Mark Trumbo? He rejected a QO, but got 3 years,$37.5M Contract....he's pretty much out of baseball now.

I agree. I also think FA's know that if they accept the QO, the following offseason they won't have draft pick compensation attached to their contracts and that increases their value.

Indeed. I also can't believe the entire league didn't exploit this loophole more. AA turned our farm system around in a heartbeat using this tactic. Sign or trade for players one 1 year deals, let them walk in free agency and add a draft pick between the 1st and 2nd round. -

AA found and exploded the loophole in the CBA to land us several extra draft picks which accelerated the rebuilding of our farm system (before he eventually traded some of it away). -

Didi seems so underrated. It's almost insane that 2/25 might actually be what he signs for. I'm definitely on board with adding Didi. I never thought he got enough credit for the job he did stepping in to replace Jeter.

What about trading for Kyle Hendricks? He has 3 years remaining (around $42M) + a vesting option I believe. I wonder if the price tag is significantly lower than it is for Darvish simply because he's a smoke and mirrors guy v. the dominant upside that Darvish brings?
