I guess. This might come back to bite them though. Kim's a FA at the end of the year and Merrill didn't exactly light it up with the bat in A/AA last year. If he takes a step back this year, there's a chance they need to move Bogearts back to SS for the 2025 and even the 2026 season. I'm not sure you see a lot of SS move off the position and then actually return to play it again. Like Semien never returned to SS (that's the person that comes to mind).
Well obviously if he makes the team out of STing, they are going to use him to some extent. For that to happen, that probably means injuries to Biggio, Espinal, Schneider or IKF. Let's just hope nobody gets hurt and Escobar is let go after STing
Kyle Bradish (elbow) said Friday that he’s very confident he’ll pitch this season.
Bradish is scheduled to resume throwing Friday for the first time since receiving a PRP injection to address a right elbow sprain. The history of pitchers opting for the rest and recovery route, instead of surgery, following a UCL injury isn’t all that encouraging. However, we’re not willing to rule out the possibility that Bradish will ultimately be able to make it back and pitch this season.
1. You're an idiot.
2. This move is just insurance against an injury in spring training. Never know when someone is going to roll and ankle on a sprinkler head.
I mean - the guy certainly has upside. If the Jays experts believed there was something different in his approach (from last year) that they thought was sustainable and deserving of a 3 year deal, then I'd be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt - yes. Atkins has been pretty damn good at signing FA's. I feel that's a pretty logical take on it, thank you very much.
I was just pointing out that Jays24's statement wasn't correct (which he confirmed was certainly cherry picked to include 2018/2019 season - which are essentially irrelevant at this point). But thanks for coming out SBC - quality content as per usual.
Oh you wait, it will be a red jersey, with the maple leaf and they'll tell you "we're Connecting the Blue Jays and the City of Toronto to the entire county" and then I'll vomit.
I'm just telling you - I think that's what several people on this board are thinking right now and they're developing opinions that Atkins is a s***** GM because of it.
People care because there's a perception that we're out of budget and some of the very good players are still unsigned, presumably with their pricing dropping and he may restrict our ability to go sign one of those guys on a bargain.
Oh wow - I didn't know Ben Wagner was gone. I thought he was great. I would have thought there was room for both either on the radio and/or the television broadcast.
