  1. I've been to a couple of games at Fenway and did the stadium tour at Wrigley (I also did the tour at Fenway). I loved both experiences - but I enjoy the history side of the game. It's certainly different than modern stadiums. I do expect that when they eventually replace both, it will be good for the team/city, but I think we should enjoy the history while we have it. I've also been to new Yankee stadium. Saw a game there and did the tour. Overall, I wasn't impressed. I wish I got to see the OG Yankee stadium myself. The modern version isn't very memorable like Fenway/Wrigley were. I almost forgot I've been there at times, with stadiums like Camden and PNC being miles ahead. Perhaps new Yankee Stadium is a good reminder that newer may not mean better...
  2. Yeah my wife and oldest son are going Tuesday. Missing Ohtani sucks, but Yamamoto is a nice consolation prize. Yamamoto v. Gausman; and Ohtani v. Cease Those are some big time pitching matchups.

  4. New video of Barger leaving Northwestern Memorial Hospital yesterday.
  5. That 0.000 BABIP luck is certainly masking the underlying numbers right now.
  6. The sad thing is you're probably right on most of these things. I sure hope we get to spend another 153 complaining about it and randomly blaming people for this outcome when we really have no f*cking idea why it happened. That's my favourite part.
  7. Why wouldn't we expect Barger to take a step forward? Did you miss when we traded for Sanchez after Santander got hurt? It's not like they sat on their hands.
  8. Voth is a 33 year old nobody. You can throw him until his arm detaches.
  9. Congrats to Valenzuela. Great way to start your career.
  10. Exactly - it's near impossible to reinvent yourself at the ML level. Players need the right environment and opportunity to make it happen.
  11. You realize the pitchers are as, if not more responsible for the runners ability to steal bases eh?
  12. Yesterday was the perfect example of why teams have moved to batting their best players 2nd. More at bats. Watching the game end with 2 on and Vlad in the on deck circle yesterday just sucks. There's a very high probability that Lukes is a sub 100 wRC+ hitter this year. He's a 31 year old journeyman.
  13. It's so frustrating that Vlad has some BS mental block about hitting 2nd. I'm not 100% sure Lukes should even be on this team, let alone hitting 2nd.
  14. You think people don't know that? Obviously a slow start is meaningful and will impact our ability for a good season and potentially a playoff spot. You think fans want to hear people tell them the obvious, doom and gloom post, suggesting the season's over 8 games in and that the FO and coaching staff are all morons? Like what the f*ck do you suggest they do? Panic moves because their chances of winning the division dropped from 30% to 15%? Trade Jojo Parker and Nimmala right now? Bench Varsho? Send Barger to AAA? Cut Springer? They could have send Little down to AAA a game or 2 earlier - sure, but that's minor in the grand scheme of things. There's very little that can be done right now that makes a lot of sense. Want to vent with nonsensical posts - try Facebook. Nobody wants that here.
  15. Did I miss the discussion on the Jays acquiring Tyler Fitzgerald?
  16. Drastic moves after 8 games just isn't wise. Panicking rarely works. I mean obviously Little needs to go to AAA, but they've made that move. Things may go completely south. That's always a possibility in baseball. But it's far too early to say with any confidence this isn't still a very good baseball team that has a great chance to make the playoffs. People saying that may ultimately be correct, but that's just luck. They have no idea at this point. I honestly think people say s*** just to setup the "I told you so" moment, which must make them feel good about themselves (otherwise, why do it?). Injuries are adding up though. Need to get going.
  17. Dude - he's spot on. There are SEVERAL other options full of uneducated and irrational fans. It's essentially every other option there is. I've always felt this place was special because it was full of highly educated fans who understand the game more than the typical fan. That's the primary reason I've spent so much time here for past 13+ years. Winning always brings more casual fans. For lots of us, it can get a bit annoying. Obviously new members are awesome for the board, but not at the expense of this place morphing into Facebook. I come here for educated debates, news and to learn more about the game. I don't come here for irrational nonsense. Go vent on Facebook. I'm sorry. But that's how I feel. I'm actually cool with you. You're fine. I just enjoy getting you going these days, which is a d*ck move LOL. Maybe it helps me get over the frustrations of this brutal start.
