  1. OMG - we need some baseball. You guys expect me to work all day long? WTF?
  2. Chase - Milb Central (@milb_central) • Instagram reel WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM milb_central on January 24, 2026: "Albert Mejías is a prospect expected to make history on the international market... That seems nuts!
  3. 100% It's always fun.
  4. You're a real guys guy eh Jimbo?
  5. I didn't say it obligated him.
  6. If I may, you set a bet with Spanky re: Clement having a wRC+ over 100. Clement is projected to have a wRC+ of exactly 100, he's never had a wRC+ over 100 in a full season and his career wRC+ is only 87. This bet heavily favors you. If this were Vegas, there's definitely be odds involved in the bet. But it's a message board and it's low stakes, so Spanky makes the bet anyway. Spanky is proposing a 2nd bet. It's very similar to the first that Varsho will have a wRC+ over 100. Like Clement, Varsho is projected to have a wRC+ of exactly 100; however, in this case, he's coming off a 123 wRC+ season, he's had a wRC+ over 100 in 3 seasons (2 with less than a full slate of PA's) and his career wRC+ is 99. This bet likely favors Spanky (slightly). Again - it's a small value bet on a message board. Even if you don't "think" Varsho will have a wRC+ under 100, it's still a bet you could conceivably make, especially when you have pretty good odds of winning the Clement bet. This is kind of a guy code thing. If you're that excited about winning $100 off Spanky (or whatever the bet was) - then be that guy and only agree to the Clement bet. Just don't be surprised when Spanky (and/or others) scoffs at you for it.
  7. I'm with you on this one - you just said the proposed extension was not realistic, which can be true even if Varsho is >100 wRC+ He's just trying to bait you into another bet 🤣
  8. What? How is that even a legit question? Obviously he's a HOFer.
  9. What can (or does) the MLBPA do if you tell them to go pound salt?
  10. I just love bustin' your balls man. We should have bets to see how early in the season you or your brother call for Atkins to be fired. What's the over/under - 8 weeks?
  11. Canada's own Denzel Clarke is in CF for the A's! Bassitt returning to the A's to soak up a ton of innings for them would be a great fit - but I suspect he wants to win and the A's are probably a few years away.
  12. Just calling a spade a spade. You've been going on about how you think we need to add offense for weeks now. Just like you did all last offseason. You even went as far as to claim interest in Yoan Moncada is proof the Jays FO agrees with you.
  13. Not everyone in this world is a greedy c*nt. Most are, but not all.
  14. Wow! He's had a great career. Love watching him pitch
  15. Dude - it really looks like you're just trying to set up to for a big "I told you so" if our offense isn't Top 5 in the league. If you're not - I'm sorry. You seemingly do this over and over, year after year - constant concern and then you're happy when you're right once in awhile. It feels like you can't wait to rip Atkins again and bump the "Fire Atkins" thread. I don't mean to be a d*ck, but it's a bit much.
  16. I don't know that he "has" to acquire someone by the deadline. He could resign Varsho (or extend him) and there's always a few CFers on the FA market. Harrison Bader is still a FA right now while coming off a 3.2 WAR season with a 122 wRC+ bat. They won't be long term solutions, but short term stop gaps will be available. I do love the idea of Oneil Cruz - I wonder what he costs? I also hope that people are starting to understand why we gave up Moreno to get Varsho. Quality CFers are extremely rare. I maintain my stance the Jays hoped Varsho's bat would develop like we saw it last year. It took longer than expected, but his defense and baserunning is so good, that his floor was always super high.
  17. It depends what version of Kwan you think we're getting. his wRC+ by season has gone 125, 99, 131 and 99. His OBP was .330 last year. He's certainly a solid player, but I'm not so sure he's the upgrade you think he is. I don't disagree about your point about OF depth, but we do also have Schreck, Pinango and Aries in the upper minors - which at least provides some depth for 2026.
  18. Have to think that's the plan. Use money to sign guys who could perform and be traded to net you young controllable assets. Rebuilding 101.

  20. Gimenez's career splits aren't that different. 92 wRC+ v. LPH and 100 wRC+ v. RHP.
  21. I'm not sure I buy this. First, in a 5 to 7 game series, you're only using 2 of those 4 players. Let's assume that's Gimenez and Ernie. Ernie is projected to be a league average bat and we'd obviously seen how effective he can be when he gets hot. Obviously teams would love 120 wRC+ bats throughout their lineup, but even the big bad Dodgers didn't have that last year. They consistently played Edman (82 wRC+) and Kiki (70 wRC+) out there in the playoffs and then had to replace stone cold Pages with Rojas. It's also just flat out wrong that defensive abilities have less impact, or aren't as meaningful in a 5 or 7 game series. Defensive plays can have a HUGE impact in a short series.
  22. Thanks for adding that.
  23. I'm just saying this team is packed full of versatile players already. Clement - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, SS Gimenez - 2nd, SS (and I'm sure he can play 3rd) Barger - 3rd, RF, LF Schneider - 2nd, LF Okamoto - 3rd, LF, RF (assumed) Jimenez - 2nd, SS (and I'm sure he can play 3rd - if he's on the roster) There are all kinds of viable starting combinations you can use on this roster. Some teams are in desperate need for a quality utility player who can provide insurance across the diamond. That Jays are in a unique position where they already have tons of positional redundancy. So while adding another player with versatility is never a bad thing - they don't have to pay extra for that "value". They have the ability to target someone with less versatility if they like the bat better, or if the cost is less.
  24. I was always fascinated by Alex Gordon. He was the #1/#2 prospect in baseball at one time. Huge minor league numbers. Struggled to adjust early in his ML career, then went on a wicked tear where he was stud who averaged over 5 WAR a year during his 4 year peak. He finished his career with 31.5 WAR - very solid.
  25. I assume that's a Fitz marrying a Gerald and they agreeing to hyphenate their name? I mean it's not often a hyphenated name ends up spelling another common last name. I hate it.
