    I LOVE stories like this. How can you not be romantic about baseball? What a freak athlete - very few people to ever walk this earth have the ability to be drafted as a pitcher, fail, convert back to a hitter (after likely 3-4 years of not hitting) and have a very successful major league career. Much respect.

    It feels like one of those situations where he's have to fall into our laps. Baltimore is rumored to be interested and they've certainly demonstrated the ability to be cheap/dumb f*cks in recent years, so it could happen.

    I haven't been in years, but the last time I went, I just parked on someone's lawn. It's a side business for tons of people who live within a couple blocks of the park. There are people with signs out all over the place.

    Santander is a little different in that he doesn't strike out as much - he isn't 27%+ K rates like Teo/Suarez

    That's good to know. I like seeing Pittsburgh and Cincy making efforts to sign guys like this.

    I suspect most teams no longer view him as a full time 3rd baseman - which is why his market wasn't as strong.

    Any word if Geno will play 3rd for the Reds? Is Ke'Bryan Hayes just a utility guy now? Geno's bat feels like Teo's to me - the type of hitter with a high probability of just falling off a cliff at any moment. But until that happens - fun guy to have crushing homers for your team.

    I just saw a clip of Sid suggesting he wants to get back into sports. Sid was fired on February 10, 2025 and thus the speculation is his 1 year non-competitive agreement will expire soon. Could be a Tim & Sid reunion?

    I don't know about everyone else, but I'm pretty immune to ads these days. It's probably been years since I clicked on an ad I see on a website. I guess there's some subliminal effect - but the website doesn't get paid if I decide to go look at shoes 3 days from now because I've been looking at shoe ads on this message board all week. Maybe I have PTSD from all the pop-ups that blew up my computer when I was a kid. News flash - there is no MILF down the street who wants to chat!

    That's probably what happens for me as well? I think? I don't even really know. I'm looking now and I do have some shoe advertisement showing up on a portion of the screen - it just changed to a Moores ad - so I guess maybe I don't have ad blocker on at work? I don't even notice the ads to be honest. I think I voted wrong Brock - and it doesn't appear I can change it.

    I know players can "do what they want in the offseason" and the team can't force them to do anything, but f*ck me - I don't understand why the majority of players aren't spending a good portion of the offseason in the lab grinding - looking to improve. The offseason is the best time (by a mile) to make improvements to your game. Most prospects fail. If you've worked at baseball this long, got drafted to a professional team and aren't taking advantage of world class technology and coaching all offseason, like WTF are you thinking? If some draft pick isn't willing to live in their lab all winter - I wouldn't draft him.
