I think there's a good chance Varland is unavailable today. 4 in 5 days, including a 30 pitch outing in there is really pushing it. Rogers would be 4 in 5 days as well. Let's hope the offense steps up and the high leverage guys get a rest.
You're missing a bit of a nuance here.
AA was well known for not creating enough depth on the bench and/or the upper minors. This left them quite susceptible to injuries derailing the team. So when they inevitably had injuries and it derailed their season, we'd point and laugh because we've seen this pattern before and it appears AA hasn't really "learned" from past failures. Can't cry wolf.
When we can point out something that's true and that triggers you - it's a win-win situation.
Honestly - you're no longer public enemy #1 because you've improve significantly as a contributor to this board. You nowhere near the guy you were 3-4 years ago - which is good.
Guilty. It's incredibly hard to watch what's happened so far this year. I LOVE this team. Last year was the most incredible season of baseball I've ever followed - and I watched '92 and '93! It meant more than anything to watch it with my 3 boys - who all love baseball. I love this team.
It's so hard to watch what's happening and knowing how many young kids fell in love with the Jays last year, only to be quite disappointed in what's happened so far this year - while having very little understanding as to why this is happening.
And I have to experience this while you and your brothers doom and gloom in the f*cling offseason! Even after we followed up a dream season with a fantastic offseason. Can't even give them a month of the next season? Immediately nitpick every decision.
Do you get off from being super negative and then getting to tell everyone you're right when the team fails? What kind of masochist way is that to cheer for your favourite team? It's ludacris. And now you and your brother are multiplying? We got a fresh one in here...Stop mating please!
The way teams are running on us - the pitchers need to EVERYTHING possible. But yes, I agree that there are several other ways to slow down the running game.
To keep him from getting into scoring position? Teams are running wild on us.
I suspect you're concerned that it effected his focus on the hitter - but he needs to be able to do both. This is the majors.
