  1. The fanbase for essentially every professional sports team are "suckers". The % of fans who really understand baseball and have an intelligent opinion about the Blue Jays is extremely small - as it is for every team.
  2. It was special to see a couple of Canadian boys at the top of the leaderboard yesterday. B2B Canadian winners would have been incredible, but it wasn't meant to be. If that wasn't going to happen, then I'm sure glad Robert MacIntyre won with his dad carrying his bag for the first time in his career. Pretty magically stuff.
  3. I was at the game on Sunday and I just say the City Connects were hot, hot, hot. There is an entire store dedicated to selling all the connect merch and TONS of people were buying that stuff up. I got my kid the hat and he loves it. What I also noticed is there were as many Varsho and Schneider jerseys being worn as Bo/Vlad.
  4. What's gotten into Jack Flaherty? He's pitching like the ace you thought he'd develop into when he was 22/23
  5. https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/mlb-city-connect-jerseys-ranked-2024 https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10122634-the-definitive-mlb-city-connect-jersey-power-rankings There are a couple of updated rankings that include Toronto's. We're ranked 15th and 10th. As you can see, the rankings are all over the f***ing place and generally meaningless. The Bleacher Report article shows pictures of all the jerseys, so you can compare yourself (USA today makes you click on twitter links - so it sucks).
  6. Man - Betts is going to go down as one of the best to ever play this game. Such an incredible athlete.
  7. OK man - we get it - you don't like them. But it's disrespectful to suggest this is a lazy and uninspired jersey. They didn't put this together in an afternoon and call it a day. You an tell a ton of effort went into it - even if you don't personally like it. You sound like someone who looks at art and says "pffff, I my kid could paint this, it's garbage?"
  8. 100% - its obvious there was a lot of thought put into these, which people should respect whether they like the aesthetics or not.
  9. You need to remember that most of us are probably not the target audience. I asked my 14 year old kid and he thought they were fire.
  10. MLB ⚾ (@mlb) • Instagram reel WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM 24K likes, 462 comments - mlb on May 30, 2024: "Here’s an explainer of all the details on the Blue Jays City Connect uniform 👀". There's a nice breakdown of all the details. I actually think they are pretty cool. Enough of this nonsense that they look like slo pitch unis.
  11. The originals were knockoffs from Mexico man. To be honest, I like them. I like the hat. I think they are better than most the City Connects (which isn't saying a lot). Maybe Top 3-5 I've seen?
  12. LOL. Imagine being that clueless.
  13. There's a fancy wind tunnel at the University of Western. You'd think they'd have had that all figured out before the built it...
  14. This all seems bizarre. I didn't see him toss his glove into the stands, but with all the nets now, I suspect it wasn't some violent throw meant to hurt anyone. Had to be a toss over the net, like you'd toss a ball. Some fan gets a f***ing cool souvenir. Why was the manager so upset that his pitcher, who's just pissed off at his own performance, flips a glove into the stands? Or are their rules that players aren't supposed to do that?
  15. I would agree. Is it generally more difficult to fire your GM and find a superior alternative midseason (v. offseason)? I suspect it is and suspect we're stuck with Atkins for the rest of the year.
  16. But are there moves to be made that can salvage this season, without compromising the future? Seems doubtful. Also seems doubtful we even have the pieces needed to go get the players we need to salvage this season. I guess some moron may think Ricky T isn't broken, but I'm not sure any other prospect is going to land you difference maker. We'd seemingly be selling Ricky at his low point too - so I can't imagine that's even considered.
  17. It will be interesting to see if we see a bunch of desperation moves by Atkins as he knows he's on the hotseat - or if he'll continue to make decisions for the long term benefit of the team. I do believe the season is already lost, so I'd typically be worried about him unloading prospects in a last ditch effort to turn the season around; however, at this point, we barely have any prospects who are even interesting - guys that I'd be pissed off if we moved. So, I don't really care what he does - I doubt it will make much difference either way.
  18. I just saw something where he clarified that's exactly what he said (or meant to say).
  19. https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2919611/unsolved-mystery-how-did-rogers-centre-become-a-pitchers-park Oddly enough, on my ride into work this morning, I was wondering how the stadium is performing this year and BAM - The Score does an article on it. Seems odd the Jays and the architects/engineers who did the reno wouldn't have a very solid grasp on how the changes would impact the park factor and such. Unless this is what they wanted (barf). Seems like it's way off what they expected.
  20. Guys like Connor Cooke, Hagen Danner and Mason Fluharty were supposed to be ready to contribute this year. Which coach told Cooke to start walking 8 per 9? Like WTF man. Danner has been better as of late - it might be time to see what he's got.
  21. Yeah - I feel bad for Manoah. He clearly got the message last year and it looks like he worked his ass off to get in better shape and the early results were positive. Now he's probably f***ed. This team isn't catching many breaks these days.
  22. Nice to see JJ Bleday turning his career around.
  23. Moreno - 91 wRC+ LGJ - 86 wRC+ Who finishes the season the best of these 2? Man - I feel bad for DBack fans. Go to the WS and this year you're watching your $42M man suck balls, your catcher of the future (#3 hitter during the playoffs) swing a limp noodle, you're superstar player hit like Billy Hamilton (65 wRC+) and your new 3rd baseman hit like Goins (71 wRC+).
