  1. It's an Alpha move. At that point, they are no longer part of the organization, so f***'em
  2. 2022 2nd round pick out of high school. 20 year old in A+ ball with a 118 wRC+ seems like a solid pickup for an expiring contract who hasn't hit in months.
  3. My bad - I thought he was traded for cash or a PTBNL or something. I should have checked. Point still stands. Teams find talent in many different places and sometimes the 'turds' they add aren't actually 'turds'.
  4. You seem miserable man. Like nobody ever does anything right. You OK?
  5. I don't really understand this rhetoric that we got "turds" in return. You really have no idea. Remember when we traded for Ernie Clement? I think it was universally believed we got "nothing" in return. Now Ernie has given us 1.2 WAR in 275 PA's and looks like a very solid utility player for the big league club.
  6. Have you noticed the players we traded away? It might explain why we're not landing Top 10 prospects. Have you followed baseball for very long?
  7. This isn't true. Look at the Dodgers list of injuries. Or other teams. Should the Dodgers fire everyone too?
  8. He's been working on a 2 seam fastball... primary because his 4 seam fastball is complete ass (despite velo). He's literally just trying to find another fastball to replace his current useless one.
  9. I agree. First priority is to setup your family for life. Second priority is to win a championship.
  10. The trade deadline's getting weird, Crochet the trailblazer, and 7 other observations https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3043943 Interesting little article. Did you guys hear Crochet is demanding an extension for him to pitch in October? Never heard of that before. Can a player actually just refuse to play in the playoffs??? Also the first I've read about a "cover 2 defense" and suppressing doubles.
  11. Is Victor Rubles figuring it out finally?
  12. This is probably a reason to seriously consider moving Vlad to Seattle right now. Dipoto is all over the place and their farm system is one of the best.
  13. Didn't this board debate if Yimi was even worth $6M at the start of this year? Weren't people suggesting he should be moved to free up budget space? People hated this guy last year. Then he opened the season ON FIRE and everyone changed their tune. Then he got hurt and now he's been back for a few innings. My comment that he's non-elite has more to do with his track record. He was certainly pitching like an elite setup man at the start of this season. I think there's legit questions if he'll be an elite setup man over the remainder of the year. I thought he was a good signing by the Jays and pitched well for us. I wish him nothing but the best.
  14. complains about the s***** return in 3....2....1....
  15. I never expect to win when I buy lottery tickets either. That's all these are for a non-elite setup man (albeit he's been good this year) on an expiring contract.
  16. Even if you resigned Jansen, adding Sharp just adds depths in the minors. He's probably not getting a sniff of the majors for another 2-3 years anyway. I don't think it says anything about our ML catchers.
  17. CFer looks like an Esteury Ruiz clone (with more strikeouts?). Ruiz cost the A's a f***ton more than this.
  18. Depth at catcher was reported as a big need for the Jays throughout the draft coverage - so I wouldn't read much into this (ie, a Jansen trade).
  19. Have you heard of the LA Angels?
  20. Hays is in the same camp as Mullins and Mountcastle. He sucks. Dominguez has also sucked for 2 straight years after looking like one of the next lights out RPers in baseball in 2022.
  21. Perhaps - but I would disagree with the notion that all these players are competent. The talent on this team isn't good enough - no matter who the coaches are. I continue to believe fans overestimate how much impact a coach has. This isn't U12 baseball. Suggesting a coach is to fault because a veteran hitter can't adjust to the new ways of pitching is odd. There are all kinds of different factors with a veteran hitter that are outside of a coaches or the organization's control. Just look at how many free agents signings suck balls this year. It's not all bad coaching. That's nearly impossible - especially when you see FA signings excelling and others failing on the same team.
  22. f***ing right he does. I haven't seen him yet (sleepover was part of the b-day party he was at) to see how pissed off he was. Hopefully he was full of hot dogs and ice cream and still had a blast.
  23. Arozarena to Seattle!
  24. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Will his arm fall off? Will his performance decline with the large bump in innings pitched? or will he be able to build upon what he did this year?
