  1. This isn't a "must win" game man. We aren't contending.
  2. I don't know which post you're talking about, but Bassitt looks awful tonight. Maybe Francis has 4 shutout innings in him though. Jays will need it I suspect. And don't call me an idiot please. It's unnecessary.
  3. Bo hates life right now.
  4. Bassitt is just rutting his s***** sinker/cutter so far and is already at 50 pitches in the 2nd inning. Looking like another game where he'll have to gut it out and will struggle to work through 5 innings. 4 innings from this bullpen simply won't be good. Can't see our offense getting enough off Webb to make it a game. Of course I've been wrong before, but this isn't looking good.
  5. That was no leg kick (ie, Bo's 2 strike approach). He was on time if it was a 72 MPH fastball...
  6. Can they just tell Bo to go home and take the rest of the season off? 93 MPH right down the middle and he was like 14 minutes late on it.
  7. And this game is already over...
  8. Langford's turned it around big time man...like a 150 wRC+ in June/July
  9. Adam Macko also left his start with forearm tightness. Jays are cursed. What are the chances we ever see Ricky T establish himself as a starting pitcher? like 3% now?
  10. I'm just being a realist. I suspect there's a "good" probability that the next GM who's brought in fails. Happens all the time in baseball. Everyone just assumes the next guy is going to be better than Atkins, but that shouldn't be considered a given. There isn't a lot to work with on this roster IMO (you'd really think I'm a Debbie Downer if I tell you what I fear about most of our players and prospects). The best thing we have going for us right now is payroll - and I DO NOT believe that's the right way to build a winning roster.
  11. How confident should we be that new people will produce better results? Half the teams in baseball are probably disappointed in their season and those who are in charge of their respective teams. What % of new FO's actually succeed in turning around the franchise and leading them back to relevance within a reasonable period - say 4-5 years? Is it even 50%? Things will change, but it remains to be seen if things will get better anytime soon. I can certainly see someone coming in here and turning us back into a contender in the next 3-5 years (if our payroll remains high), but I also wouldn't be surprised at all if we have 3-4 more years <.500 where our season is essentially over before it starts (possibly aligned with Rogers cutting payroll). The added WC spots certainly help, but there's a real possibility the next FO is a complete dud and we don't see the playoffs for another 10 years.
  12. The adjustments were made to level off his swing, reduce pop ups, etc. I'm not sure if the changes are actually working (ie, if his approach angle has actually changed or not), but obviously the results aren't great so far.
  13. This seems obvious...
  14. Varsho made adjustments to the angle of his bat to help adjust the steepness of his attack angle this year.
  15. Multiple people complaining about a 89 win season last year is pretty funny.
  16. This team has been cooked for months guys. I'm enjoying watching Horwitz, Leo, the Vlad resurgence, the SPers, Springer and Varsho. I'd love to see some new arms come up from AAA. It's insane how f***ing awful those guys have been when the door is now wide open for them.
  17. I mean - I'm sure they are, but most teams suck at some element. I'm sure the 2021/22 Blue Jays offense was f***ing furious at the bullpen and defense too.
  18. Maybe he's part of the package we receive when we send Bo, Kikucci and Garcia to the Dodgers at the deadline...
  19. I guess? But I think John gets a daily report that identifies who's available and who's not. Atkins could have an influence on that and through discussions with the HP team, have labelled Green as a "RED" for the day - so John has no choice. I think there's also a possibility they've had internal discussions, acknowledged this is a lost season, told John they won't fire him in-season and have all agreed to adjust how they play the remaining games out.
  20. If I recall correctly, Green was a "yellow" pitcher in the 2nd game v. the Mariners and the broadcast team was surprised to see him come into the game. I suspect they wanted to give him a couple of days off after having to use him. He's a good trade piece and these games don't matter, so there's no reason to push Green last night.
  21. Ouch, he's been awful too. He's had a lot of injuries to battle through as well, which may be catching up to him.
  22. Apparently. Odd to see the Dodgers unable to develop that huge arm correctly.
  23. His swing speed has increased dramatically as of late. The # of swings >75 MPH went from like 15% to 30% over his recent hot streak. Swing hard and do damage approach.
  24. There is a history of 2nd basemen falling off a cliff around Age 32. Not saying Semien is done, but there is a chance that age is catching up.
