  1. Tough way to end what was a really fun season for the Packers and overall, a s***** weekend for the NFL so far with 4 of 5 games being blowouts.
  2. FWIW, I do think there's a decent chance that JDM has one last dead cat bounce in him. He could add some much needed power (unlike a guy like Turner).
  3. True, but $11M AAV for Hoffman makes $10M for Kittredge seem expensive.
  4. 38 year old JDM likely provides the same impact Turner did last year.
  5. $10M seems like a ton for Kittredge - even on a 1 year deal.
  6. If you don't like Springer the ball player, you don't like baseball.
  7. Like the Diamondbacks did in 2023? 3-0 sweep. GREAT teams only win a playoff series about 65% of the time.
  8. 100%. I'd be pissed off if the team I cheered for wasn't 100% in on trying to sign Roki. The only reason you wouldn't is if you're some cheap ass team without the resources or staff to do it - which would be sad. Even if you only have a 5% chance of success - you still need to take your shot.
  9. Atkins gonna send his intern again like the alpha boss he is. "Show Vladdy the new base running stats and point out he's the sh*tist base runner in baseball. Tell him we ain't giving into his BS demands" 😎
  10. This is spot on IMO. Fans are quick to blame decisions when starters are pulled early and that team loses, yet they often don't acknowledge when this strategy is successfully used.
  11. AA was good at rebuilding the farm system - but he also played under different rules and he exploited those rules (kudos to him) to give himself 2-3 times more top draft picks than Atkins (or any other GM in baseball) is able to under the new rules. I 100% agree that Atkins has sucked at drafting/development, but AA also had advantages when you try to compare them, which should be considered in this discussion. To be honest, even after exploding the loophole, AA's "hit" rate still wasn't great. If it was, our window may have stayed open longer than just 2015/16.
  12. I was thinking this today - we'll said. They are more similar than you think.
  13. Yeah I don't like the idea of Santander on a 4+ year deal. I keep trying to convince myself he's just Teo, but blah...can't get excited about it.
  14. Some news to share: Michael Lorenzen signs with the Royals - 1 year $7M. No commentary if they're going to let him try to be a 2-way player (which I think was rumored and discussed earlier). Braxton Garrett will miss all of 2025 with after undergoing UCL revision surgery with an internal brace in December. Dude just can't stay healthy. Travis Swaggerty was signed to a minor league contract with the Mets. I remember lots of discussions about him in the 2018 draft (10th overall pick). He never amounted to much of anything unfortunately. Amed Roserio signs with the Nats - 1 year $2M. Josh Rojas signs with the White Sox - 1 year $3.5M (also impressed with their farm system). Twins confirm Griffin Jax won't be returning to the rotation this coming seasons.
  15. He must have been impressed with the White Sox farm system...
  16. I don't disagree with this at all (I was fully on the rebuilt train last deadline), but there is a probability they did shop him at the deadline, weren't getting the return they wanted and held on accordingly, knowing their was a good chance the market may re-shape his value in the offseason.
  17. There are obvious reasons why front offices aren't open and transparent about their plans and agent/player interactions. Almost all the rumors your hear comes from agents and others and you should probably assume a lot of it isn't true, or is stretching the truth. Lots of people rely on clicks to get paid - so it shouldn't surprise anyone that there are false rumors fly around nonstop.
  18. Well I think we're all sick of hearing they are "in" on every FA and a "finalist". Let's try something different - we're not going to land ANY of the remaining impactful free agents.
