  1. LFG boys! Nothing sweeter than opening day.
  2. Thanks gentlemen. My oldest son joined his first fantasy league yesterday, but I'm obviously a little rusty with some of the finer details. I will say - it's pretty cool to see your kid join a fantasy league and follow the love of baseball in your footsteps. My youngest also asked me to pick him up at school early so he can watch the Jays game from opening pitch today. It's a good day!
  3. Is Jackson Holliday going to start at 2nd base for the O's this year? Anyone know?
  4. Sure - I get that. If we end up with 2024 Gimenez and 2022 Kirk - then I suspect you'd see Kirk moved up and this plan abandoned. But if we get 2024 Kirk, there's really no need to push him higher in the lineup. I don't have an issue with them starting out with that configuration until we see how they are performing. That said, the way Kirk's been hitting the ball in the spring, I'd have a short leash.
  5. Yeah - I think something like that makes sense.
  6. I believe he's talked about batting Kirk after Gimenez - primarily because Gimenez can steal bases and help keep Kirk out of double plays. It would also allow better L/R splits. We'll soon see what his plan is.
  7. They don't? Oh man - I must have gotten caught up in the headlines or something. I thought this was a done deal?
  8. Zach Pop has been shut down from throwing after experience right elbow inflammation. Pop will be shut down for 7-10 days according to Blue Jays manager John Schneider, but an MRI showed no structural damage. The 28-year-old is now likely to open the season on the injured list, but assuming the inflammation subsides — a risky bet based on how this often goes — there’s a chance he’ll be back near the end of April.
  9. Really? Why's that? I don't think I've ever heard anyone suggest this. What do you know?
  10. Has Vegas shown any promo videos of what their jerseys and such will be yet? Maybe they're best to hold off on that for a bit...
  11. I think it's going to be wildly successful - much like the Golden Knights.
  12. It seems bizarre the Jays didn't try to add him or Robertson already. Please bring us David Robertson, we're going to need him.
  13. Blue Jays selected the contract of LHP Richard Lovelady from Triple-A Buffalo. Lovelady has been officially added to Toronto’s 40-man roster, which gives him a strong chance at breaking camp in the club’s season-opening bullpen. The 29-year-old lefty was in camp as a non-roster invitee after posting a respectable 4.46 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 26/11 K/BB ratio over 34 1/3 innings last year between the Rays and Cubs. Manoah was added to the 60 day DL
  14. I don't like the sounds of that.
  15. I thought Springer was just getting bad coaching the past few years. I thought he was being told to be more of a contact hitter, instead of letting it loose. He started swinging much harder half way through the season last year and went on an extended tear (followed a couple of s***** months). Our new hitting guru is going to tell George to let it eat this year and he'll be fine.
  16. Does Manoah look like he's "corkscrewing" into his back leg more than he did previously?
  17. No? I think there's a good chance he starts the year there. Unless Wagner or maybe Gimenez bat leadoff in certain matchups, then Springer will hit 5th. It would be wicked awesome if we could have the same conversation everyday all week about how our 4th and 5th best hitters don't exactly inspire a lot of confidence. Oh please, let's discuss the obvious some more.
  18. https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/3241237/rays-wont-move-forward-with-plan-for-new-park Looks like TB won't be moving forward with a new park and will be returning to the Trop in 2026. Barf.
  19. Interesting. Still feels like I have to squint pretty hard to see Tate as someone who's "just" behind Robertson. Hope I'm wrong!
  20. Cool - that's reasonable enough. However, after seeing the G-League lineup they played last night, I think I better wait until the start of the next season to go...
