  1. I mean there's a decent probability that Teo is significantly better than Belly too.
  2. Sounds like the Cubs wanted the Yanks to take the entire contract (minus the buyout). Jays probably weren't interested in paying full pop.
  3. It's been a couple of years. The park has changed significantly, new teammates, new coaching staff and I'm told the # of bums and addicts has increased dramatically in TO. Also, the word "or" suggests it could also be the other person named who struggles. It's obviously not guarantee, but it's more common than you think.
  4. Of course we did. But really - any other team that's interested in a free agent or a player on the trading block inevitably helps someone else get the "deal they want". That's how negotiations work these days. Then again, maybe Ross wanted the Yanks to get Belly, so they were out of the running for Teo.
  5. No tits - 4/10, would not bang
  6. They are massive. I was distracted from the closet full of useless s*** multiple times.
  7. I don't see anything about that here - https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id/21735/cody-bellinger But he does have a player opt-out after 2025, with a $5M buyout. Looks like the Cubs are covering the buyout and the Yanks may just get him for 1 year $27M if he rebounds...
  8. Tend to agree. The most optimistic thing for Kirk is that he should be entering his prime as he heads into his age 26 season and in his 4th full season catching at the ML level, he should be past the "play defense first" stage and able to focus on offense more. There should still be optimism in his bat moving forward.
  9. Passan's says it's only $5M. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the Yankees are acquiring first baseman Cody Bellinger from the Cubs for right-hander Cody Poteet. ESPN’s Jesse Rogers adds that New York is absorbing all but $5 million of the $52.5 million left on the final two years of Bellinger’s existing deal, which also includes an opt-out following the 2025 season.
  10. It really is - 100% salary dump. Interesting the Yanks want him for 2 years $50M +/- instead of paying Teo to the 3 year $75M deal (that our stupid GM won't offer him). All while the Cubs see him having absolutely no value (or negative value) at 2 years $50M. As sad as it is, I think there's a possibility the Jays ought to have given the Cubs "a little" more to get Bellinger. His ceiling may still be higher than Teo (it's certainly higher than Santander) and I just don't think anyone else is going to take our money...
  11. I have. I was on Season 4, E8 of Storage Wars. I outbid that rat bastard Dave Hester and ended up with a generator, 3 new sets of pots and pans and a golf cart. I cleared about $1,200.
  12. Even with Bregman and Teo/Santander, I doubt we're serious contenders. No bullpen still and in all likelihood, either Bregman or Teo/Santander will disappoint in their 1st year here. You see players struggle to adjust to new homes quite commonly. I mean they could contend of course, but it would probably take most things falling into place for that to happen.
  13. Weren't you hoping we signed Soler last offseason?
  14. Here's an idea, instead of trying to insult me, why not explain to my why I'm wrong? I look at the actions. Nobody wanted to sign him long term last year and if these reports are true (which they probably aren't), nobody has given into his seemingly reasonable request of 3 years / $75M this year. Why is that? Are all these GM's stupid?
  15. https://thescore.com/mlb/news/3161794 Interesting as article on pitching injuries.
  16. What the f*** at your talking about? We were "in" on the Soto and Ohtani deals. That's been widely reported. However, at some point, the $$/duration exceeded the team's valuation and they decided not to up their offer. We have no idea what they were authorized to offer, or if it was Atkins or Rogers who approved the limit. The reality is there are a lot of factors that aren't in our favor when it comes to free agents choosing Toronto. Some have been caused by this FO, while others haven't. The fact we're in Canada remains a major concern for some.
  17. I'd love to see the Jays find a way to improve the baserunning. It's an underrated way to improve the offense overall. You look at teams like the Brewers last year. 10th in wRC+ 16th in HRs 1st in BsR 2nd in SBs and they finish 6th in runs scored Even a team like Cincy 26th in wRC+ 2nd in BsR 3rd in SBs and they finish 16th in runs scored The past 2 years, the Jays have been 8th and 13th in wRC+, yet 14th and 23rd in runs scored. We've been 27th overall in BsR in each of those seasons. I really hope a guy like Gimenez can have a big impact with his legs and start to right the ship. Baserunning adds a ton of excitement to the fan experience too.
  18. No way - just be irrationally angry out stupid GM hasn't signed him yet. That's what real fans do.
  19. Paying players for what they "have done" is the kiss of death. They all do what they can to evaluate future performance. It seems clear that teams share a concern over how much longer Teo will perform at these levels.
  20. That is a great question - why is he unsigned still? And why didn't anyone commit to him for 3 years last offseason? Guys can't s*** all over our GM all they want, but if this report is true (it's probably not - not sure why we believe any report we hear), then it would certainly appear that several teams remain concerned about something with Teo...
  21. That is actually great news...
  22. The Packers game was a thing of beauty last night. Team is rollin'
  23. There's no way those new tickets/suites behind home plate aren't almost all corporate tickets. Up until those new seats were built, I would have agreed with you.
  24. Tucker feels like a player who won't get paid anywhere near what Soto or even Vlad will get, yet he will likely outperform Vlad most years - making him better value. As noted, his age will play a factor in why he wont get paid as much.
  25. 3 years of Parades, Cam Smith and an arm seems like a pretty good return for 1 year of Tucker.
