  1. The Yankees are better than the Royals, Rangers, and Astros, so yeah that would be a nervous first round opponent. But hey, the goal is to finish with the best record. The Cardinals can't sweat the Pirates or Cubs. The Jays have to finish strong and then let the chips fall where they fall.
  2. A picture can make me so happy (Jays making the playoffs) and so defeated (Gibby staying long term) at the same time.
  3. Smoak should never see a fastball. He can't hit anything off speed.
  4. That Donaldson AB was horrible. Miller couldn't find the strike zone and Donaldson was hacking like crazy. Oh well, can't win them all.
  5. A 1.5 WAR in 60 innings and the manager is afraid to use him. Poor Liam. If only he lacked fastball command, then Gibby would love him.
  6. Or he could have used Cecil in the 8th to begin with and not put Sanchez in a position to fail (facing a bunch of lefties, 3rd game in 4 days) if he cared so much about people. He needs to play the best players. It's that simple. He's been going on hunches all season. Stop. Play your best guys and good things will happen. Sanchez is his 6th best reliever depending on how you feel about Hawkins. Stop with the "8th inning has to be Sanchez" BS and manage like you want to win games.
  7. He probably burped, laughed, and then changed the subject. Just a guess.
  8. It is that simple. Bump Cecil and Lowe up, and replace Sanchez with Hendriks.
  9. Yeah if the division is clinched then start him the last game or piggyback him with the scheduled starter. He deserves to have this landmark in his career.
  10. It looks like it's heading that way, but I'd like to see Buehrle get one last shot in the playoffs. Estrada can be the long man in the pen.
  11. I want to live in a world where Sanchez was traded to the Mets and Syndergaard is in the Jays rotation. Damn you reality.
  12. He has practically every Cito tendency down pat. Maybe that's a good thing considering what happened in 92 and 93. Even with a friggin all star team he manages to f*** up too often.
  13. I'm in the same boat, as after 22 years it won't matter to me either after the 1st pitch of an actual playoff game is thrown, but the Indians look scary to me if they make it.
  14. The Indians are 3 back of the 2nd Wild Card. They could be the Mets of the East if they make the playoffs, even if they had to burn Kluber in the one game. Still a long shot for them since they have to pass 3 teams in 16 games, but when those teams are mediocre (Twins/Angels) and free falling (Houston), anything is possible. I wouldn't want to face them in the ALDS. My hope is for a Jays/Twins ALDS. Is that too much to ask for?
  15. That's the tragedy in all of this. Well, if Clint Hurdle can be developed into a smarter manager, then maybe Wobbles is open minded enough to buy into an organizational shift in philosophy. Of course, that means AA would have to believe it as well. Maybe he does based on the type of talent he's acquired since November of last year, but telling an old school manager to execute that plan is going to be tough. Guess we have no choice.
  16. Extend Alex, and Gibby stays forever. Just remember that. Do the right thing, Shapiro.
  17. Nah, I called Gibbons an idiot for taking Buehrle out before the pinch hit even took place, it's not hindsight. Of course the Jays pen is super duper now so they should shut down the Braves lineup barring some bad luck. I just wanted Buehrle to get to 200 ip. Is that wrong?
  18. The Braves suck. Buehrle could have hit there, made an out, and finished 7 IP and the Jays could have still won the game. Now they have the pen throwing 4 innings (at least) for no reason.
  19. Manager of the Year, John Gibbons. Thank goodness the Jays don't play in the NL. Geez. This doofus would get outmanaged every night.
  20. Wow, Buck can't read a flyball at all.
  21. Yeah I would bet that Tanaka goes Friday against the Mets so he can pitch Wednesday against the Jays.
  22. Yes. He is a less stubborn, more redneck version of Cito. As long as the Jays roster is this talented, he won't hurt them.
