  1. You're right, didn't realize that. So damn I guess we do see Hamels twice.
  2. Hamels in Game 2 means he only pitches once in this series right? Isn't that what people who wanted HFA were complaining about (only seeing the ace once)? Jays pretty much got their wish, although Gallardo scares me a bit. Off speed stuff means Smoak is pencilled in for 4 K's, at the very least.
  3. We have to hope the Astros/Royals is the other ALDS game, as MLB will likely favor the team with Price, Donaldson, Bautista, Tulo, etc, on it over those teams when it comes to timeslot. However, yes, the Yankees will get top priority if they end up making it.
  4. Hamels started today. Does that mean Gallardo starts game 1 for Texas? I hope not.
  5. Yes, then all the people crying about not facing the Wild Card team would get their wish.
  6. So we rag on the umps all the time, but now the ump should have called balls into strikes because Buehrle was pitching? Come on. I like Buehrle and wanted him to get 200 innings, but he was on 1 days rest after throwing 100 pitches on Friday. He clearly didn't have anything. Blame the decision makers for starting him in this situation, not the ump. Umpires will always be s***.
  7. 2-2 game in the 6th against the worst team in baseball. There was no need to take Buehrle out of that game. I said so at the time as well.
  8. Remember that Atlanta start when the game was 2-2 in the 6th, and Buehrle had thrown 5 innings or something like 65 pitches? He could have easily gotten through 7 but Gibbons took him out so that Cola could hit with 2 runners on. That was the difference between 200 innings and 198+ with this embarrassment of an ending. Gibby managing NL games is not going to be fun if this team makes it to the World Series.
  9. Hamels starting today for the Rangers, so he can't go Thursday unless they pitch him on 3 days rest. I'm actually worried about lefties since Gibbons appears to have Edwin at 1st and Cola at DH against them nowadays, which is beyond stupid.
  10. lol seriously. I don't know what f***ing game you guys are watching. Even the pitch tracker shows the pitches as balls and you guys are bitching.
  11. Guys the pitch tracker showed the pitch clearly inside. Do you want robots or not? That was the right call.
  12. Start a guy on 1 day rest who puts the ball in play all the time.....start your DH at first. Ugh.
  13. Why is Edwin playing the field? Just put Cola at first and Edwin at DH.
  14. Yeah the Jays are not limping into the playoffs. Aside from last night, their only losses in the past week have been with a AAA lineup out there. Today's game will be started by a guy on 1 days rest who will pitch two innings tops, followed by Hutchison who can't get MLB hitters out the past month. Unless you believe in the power of momentum, the Jays losing because of s***** lineups they are purposely throwing out there is not likely to cause a huge meltdown a week from now. I do worry about the long lay offs for the SP's, though. I know they are getting side work in, but that's a ton of rest for Price, Stroman, and Dickey. Could be good or bad.
  15. What if we played the regulars in those games in Baltimore and lost to the Yankees or Astros/Angels in the ALDS? The playoffs in baseball are unpredictable. Just get in and then the rest will sort itself out. If the Jays end up losing to the Rangers, then the Rangers had the better week that week. That's what it comes down to some times.
  16. History of the 2nd wild card 2012 AL: Orioles (lost to Yankees in ALDS, 3-2) NL: Cardinals (beat Nats in NLDS, lost Giants in NLCS) 2013 AL: Rays (lost to Red Sox in ALDS, 3-1) NL: Pirates (lost to Cardinals in NLDS, 3-2) 2014 AL: Royals (beat Angels and O's in ALDS and ALCS, lost to Giants in WS, 4-3) NL: Giants (won WS) So there have been six WC winners from 2012-14. Three were knocked out of the Divisional Series, and three went beyond the AL/NLDS. Facing the Wild Card team is just as much a coin flip as facing anyone else. Anything can happen in 5 games.
  17. I absolutely hate the fact that I'm agreeing with a Gibbons decision, but yeah, there was nothing wrong with playing the minor league suck squad in game 2 of the double header and the following day. They essentially had to play 3 games in 20 hours. Most of the guys are probably beat up and could have used the day off.
  18. So Buehrle throws 2 innings on Sunday?
  19. I feel dirty for actually agreeing with Gibbons, but he's right. Don't bench them for all the remaining games but there was no need for any important player to play in the 2nd game of the double header or in the rain yesterday. It was the right call.
  20. Who is coming on in the 9th for the Jays?
  21. Humiliating the O's is always nice. Just want to avoid Buck being Buck and instructing someone to get hit. He's petty like that.
  22. Start swinging like Alfredo Griffin during a rain delay.
  23. Come on, end this inning and start the celebration already!!!
  24. Yes, start him, and then bring him in relief the final day of the season. That 5 inning start against the Braves when he easily could have gone 7 hurt his chances of doing it organically.
