  1. I think Cleveland, Texas (not likely to dump salary though), and Milwaukee are among the others but not exactly sure of the entire list.
  2. Yeah Bo on a long term expensive FA deal is scary due to his profile. Use him for the 6 years of control in his prime and then let someone else deal with the overpay. I still think Vlad will get extended at some point, especially now with the Ohtani thing not panning out. When it happens and for how long/much is still TBD. I think trying to take advantage of the teams dumping salary due to the RSN issues might be the Jays best bet for 2024. Take on as much (reasonable) salary as possible to lessen the return going the other way. I don’t think they should buy high on Cody or bring back Chapman just because they have money to spend in a weak FA class. Although I can see why they’d prefer free agency as the Jays do need to get more help from the farm so it would be better to avoid trading anyone of significance.
  3. Man, I’m not looking forward to having to post overly positive things about Cody Bellinger on a 7 year deal just because I’m trying to convince myself that it will work out. Please don’t force me to, Ross.
  4. The Jays couldn't beat the Dodgers in a bidding war, so I don't think they'll beat Cohen either (for Yamamoto). I honestly have no clue what the Jays can do at this point. I want no part of Bellinger or Chapman, but they'll probably end up signing one of them.
  5. Well good news is the off season can finally begin now. Two months without any significant moves was boring as hell. But man, I feel for Atkins because literally anything he does now will be seen as inferior. Although if it’s Chapman or Bellinger, then fans would have a right to be upset.
  6. Ohtani to the Dodgers. Passan confirms. Kick to the dick of Jays fans, also confirmed.
  7. It's likely that Boras and/or Harper realize they should have included an opt out in there, so extending the current deal is their only option. I don't blame them, if any GM would do it, it's probably Dombrowski, so shoot your shot.
  8. Shi not mentioning Morosi in his piece (based on what has been said here, I didn't read it) is absolutely spineless on his part. I've said for years that Morosi is a clickbait hack but for whatever reason whenever he tweets something, every MLB social media account runs with it. He had "credibility" entirely because publications validated him. If Morosi doesn't tweet that, then the hoopla likely would have been a lot less chaotic, and would have been mostly on the Dodger guy and TL/Nope's stalker-esque conspiracy theory. Morosi lit the fire big time, so for Davidi to not mention him at all because of their working relationship but mentioning the Dodger source makes Shi look bad.
  9. I wonder how the dude from Shark Tank felt when he got off the plane.
  10. The sad thing is, I actually think Morosi’s source might have been the Reddit thread.
  11. Now we know how the Giants fans felt last year after being Arson Judge’d. Whatever optimism I had for Ohtani signing here has gone, and I blame myself because against my better judgment I got excited based off a Morosi tweet, and I should have known better.
  12. Morosi's downfall would make up, slightly, for Ohtani choosing the Dodgers over the Jays. But man this better not end up being a giant kick to the balls.
  13. If Nightengale is right, then Morosi better be cancelled. He should have been cancelled a long time ago, but this should be credibility destroying if true.
  14. Ohtani playing in LA where no one in the East coast wants to stay up and watch the games wouldn't be good for baseball either. The best thing for baseball would have been Ohtani going to the Yankees. With that not in play, I don't think it matters ultimately. If anything, Ohtani in the East coast playing the Yankees, Red Sox, etc, a lot more is going to get more eye balls on him. It's up to Fox, ESPN, TBS, etc, to determine whether they want to air those games nationally.
  15. Man, if this ends up being true, holy s***. Even in my wildest dreams I would not have predicted the Jays even being a finalist for Ohtani, much less potentially signing him. Although, it's Morosi, so I'll hold off getting too excited. The Passan bomb, if it happens, will hit like crack.
  16. Toronto is a relative small pond (in the major sports landscape) and he’s a gigantic fish. He will have less privacy in Toronto/Canada, if anything.
  17. Morosi being wrong but getting the clicks and engagement he seeks? Shocking. How this guy is still credited as a source for anything is amazing. Credit to him, I guess.
  18. Morosi is only a small step up in credibility over the Twitter users with 6 followers who claim to have sources, so I wouldn't take anything he says seriously. I didn't think it would happen, but I've reached a point where I'd be pretty bummed out if Ohtani chooses another team. I always felt him choosing the Jays was a long shot so I tried not to get too suckered in, but damn, I'm all in now. I'm ready to be extremely happy or extremely miserable whenever he makes up his mind.
  19. Yamamoto looks like he is going to be a $300m investment (at least) and Ohtani anywhere between $550-650m, so that’s not an exaggeration. If Rogers approves that and the two players decide to come to Toronto, then find a way to make it work.
  20. Pivoting to Yamamoto after losing out on Ohtani would make sense but both would be insane, and very unlikely. But if the Jays can make it happen, then go for it. There are ways to shed salary elsewhere if that dream is even remotely possible.
  21. Reds probably going to trade for a SP (Glasnow, Bieber, whoever). The glut of infielders should help them get a decent SP one would think. Still doesn't make sense to sign Candy if their intention is to keep Elly, McLain, and Marte, though. Seems like a waste of resources.
