  1. Let him dominate AA for a couple months and Sanchez might be ready.
  2. Oh my goodness... how has it come to this... who is better for the Dickey effect... Hutch or Sanchez?
  3. Sanchez facing a MLB lineup this should be interesting. Who is Brad Glenn?
  4. Great trade for the Jays, even if the Shark walks after 2 years he is still here for "compete now" window and we'd get a comp pick. But I don't think it happens unless one of the prospects is either Stroman or Sanchez.
  5. The trade that will change the sport... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/03/minor-moves-scioscia-gretzky.html Weird sense of deja vu.
  6. What, why? Maybe they just finally clued in they needed a 4th bench player. Gose and Pillar are still prospects and need ABs in the minors. I am pretty sure they are keeping Sierra. This guy isn't good but he is a better option that we had internally for a 4th bench spot.
  7. Versatile bench player, can player Corner IF and OF positions. Showed some pop last year with the bat but has never broken out. Can he be the 4th bench player? Fits well enough just not sure he can be productive even in a small role.
  8. Looks right but Hutch and Morrow have some upside potential.
  9. Jays projected to be 3rd in the AL in runs for, just behind Boston and LA. Jays projected to be 3rd last in the AL in runs against, just ahead of the Twins and Astros. Overall record 81-81. Sounds about right.
  10. Have always had more faith in Redmond being serviceable than Happ, who is no more than a 6th SP/Long RP.
  11. More like Dan Uggla, the braves need pitching help too. Uggla is owed $26 mil over 2 years Ricky is owed $15.6 mil over 2 years. We'd need a prospect coming back to bridge the difference, as $10.4/2 is still not good for Uggla. Maybe we also give them Izzy to shed $7 mil over 2. Something like Izzy/Ricky for Uggla+PTBNL. Braves save $3.4 mil from this deal. Uggla as a RH bat might be another Lind platoon option and provides power on the bench.
  12. Isn't that basically what has been done with the Dickey Effect? The harder the pitcher throws the greater the effect. It shouldn't be hard to analyze if the harder the starter before Dickey pitches the better he pitches? I am just not sure if the effect will be as strong.
  13. I hope so, I will laugh if its Burl who ends up there. Assuming its Hutch at #2 then I have no problem moving Morrow back to #5 and then having the option of skipping starts for whoever is not throwing well. This also means that it Morrow starts a series a team will see Morrow/Dickey/Hutch. The rotation actually has a nice mix of pitchers right now, 1 knuckleballer, 2 hard throwers, 1 junk baller and remains to be seen who wins the last spot.
  14. You just need to turn your brain off and live in the ignorance is bliss fantasy land of AA where all that could go right this year will go right, starting with today's souvlaki for lunch.
  15. lol yeah right, so you wouldn't want 2011 Romero? Sure his ERA was lucky that year, but regardless, anything close to 2010 or 2011 performance over 200+ IP from Romero would be tremendous for this staff. At this point beggars can't be choosers. Dickey, Morrow, and Hutch provide upside. A reliable Ricky to go along with a reliable Buehlre would be just fine. This is all a hope and a prayer as it is.
  16. A 2011 or better Romero is just what this rotation needs! Romero and Hutch are going to save AA's career. This is what I am going to believe so that I can hope for something to watch all summer long.
  17. Its a 1 year deal how can they get burned? Santana should be pretty good for them and worth the contract.
  18. If you aren't willing to put up with the health risk then the question is why acquire him in the first place. You paid the price in assets for either 2 years of JJ or 1 year of JJ + the draft pick. The health risk was always there.
  19. Did Ervin Santana sign with Baltimore and literally break the forum?
  20. Can Ryan Goins slip? fall? slide?
  21. Jays don't have a lot of options for backup OF/DH because they didn't go out and sign anyone. EE/Lind is fine at 1B but there is probably some truth to EE preferring (not demanding) to DH. There is a lack of positional prospects in the system ready to come up as injury replacements so Sierra adding 1B to his resume is unfortunately the best internal option. They seem to be asking for trouble this year with the complete lack of quality positional depth and going with a large bullpen. We have the arms to justify the big bullpen but we needed a better super sub on the team. A single injury and Gose/Izzy are starters (and thats assuming Goins is the starter)... add a second injury... and things get ugly fast.
  22. Upside seems to be back up SS/2b. Jays already have enough people in play for that spot.
  23. Right... they want to develop a pipeline of knuckle ball specialist catchers that will be ready for the MLB roster just in time for Dickey to retire.
  24. All bat and no position is Lawrie's outdated scouting report.
  25. Can't go wrong with 1 yr deal, wouldn't mind a two year either. Sign Drew after this and I like our team.
