    Likely he will slide over to 2nd base if Goins continues to be the blackhole on offence that many here predicted. Goins has 2 walks in 135 MLB PA.... that's brutal especially considering lack of average and power. If he can't hit as well as the average NL pitcher then he can't continue to play regardless of how good his glove is.

    So when Reyes is back do we play him at DH to keep the dynamic duo of Diaz/Goins going? Reyes is a great bench piece, can backup SS/2b and be righty platoon to go with Lindy. Maybe he can learn to play LF too.

    I like the fact that the right call will be made and there is a way to hold the Umps accountable during the game. Obviously need to do something to keep the managers in the dug out i.e the third time a manager leaves dugout without either challenging the play or changing the pitcher its an auto ejection.

    Picked him up in fantasy ball. I am using the "Don't Do what Donny Don't does" technique but applying it to AA. AA dumps Gomes, I pick him up.

    Agreed, his agent is delusional. He should have accepted the qualifying offer and Boston is probably happy he didn't. At this point he should accept a 2/20 deal, atleast its more total $ than 1/14.

    This is a situation where giving only the total run expectancy is misleading. The bunt option may skew towards less overalls runs but at a higher occurrence rate where as the let them hit option may result in a bigger inning of more runs scored but lower occurrence. What I would want to know is.... odds of scoring 1 run, 2 runs, 3 runs, 4 runs, etc. with both options. The bunt option might be better for 2 runs or less and the let them hit option for 3 runs or more.

    Where is our starting second basemen Goins?

    I am more positive than I was recently. The injury risk on many of these guys is high and the depth is paper thin. That hasn't changed. But Hutch coming in and earning a spot in the rotation over guys like Happ/Rogers is a huge positive and Morrows last start reaffirms that the potential is there. A few weeks ago I wasn't sure that even if fully healthy this team would be good. Now I think if healthy they can be good. Its a slight upgrade and is still just a hope and prayer for a miracle healthy season from all the major piece, but I am saying there's a chance! We all know that if Sanchez got hit hard most everyone here would be down on him. So him pitching well twice against major league hitters has to be considered a positive. No way is he ready, but if he goes to AA and dominates over a 10-12 start span just maybe we do have something here.

    This a real boom or bust pitching staff. The chance of bust is much more likely but you can't deny that boom potential. Would you take the over or under on 2 of 5 of our opening starters being on the DL by all-star break? The vegas line should probably be 2.5 or 3?

    My main league closed down this year, so I am up for it. I've been playing Fantasy Ball for years. I started my own Roto League so a H2H will be a nice addition. Let me in!

    Don't remember Steamwhistle ever being available at any vendors I saw at any games last year. I would have much preferred Steamwhistle to Bud.

    If Gretzky can be traded than anyone can be traded. Start the Trout to Toronto rumours to help grow the sport in the Great White North.

    I agree, I view each of these guys as a 50/50 (probably too optimistic) chance of a cheap controllable stud pitcher. So I am inclined to keep both because the team badly needs one. We gave up as much prospect capital as we could spare last off season. Another such trade would leave this team pretty much ALL IN on the next 2 years. Even though we are practically all in anyway from the trades last year, at this point they could blow it up and recoup alot of that back with the assets on this team.
